If you're the US president you don't go lobby for the olympics unless you know you're getting them. It shows he has much less influence worldwide than people were saying. It shows they miscalculated his worth, and it's an embarrasment to the US to have their president lobby for something like this, and lose.

 

After making far too many primetime appearances and major speaches, Obama probably needs to learn to stop putting himself in the spotlight becuase he's burning through political capital way too quickly.

It probably was. The reports are the first round people vote for their neighbors to be more friendly even if they plan on eventually voting for somebody else. It's a really stupid process. Had it been a straight up vote, and no rounds, Chicago probably wins.

I agree. It would have been one thing if it came down to Rio and Chicago. Then Obama could have saved face and praised the IOC for opening up the Olympics to our South American friends.
