Reminder to those who already "set" their rosters before yesterday: remember to check them as a keeper before February 15 also to avoid the whole roster dropping.

Hello, all. I just took over one of the bad teams over the last couple of years. I played a few years ago with Tim, Juan, Raw, et al in the NSBB keeper league (which is still going on) but most of the principals ditched.

I am working on getting the roster legal before the 15th so give me time to review the mess I inherited.

We can give you an extension if needed. I got your message but I am pretty time starved - if you can read the rules and post your questions here, it might go faster.

The 15th should still be fine. I am familiar with most of the rules. I do have a questions about Francisco Liriano. 2009 was is 4th year; however, year 1, he only pitched 23 innings. Does this first year qualify as exempt - if not, then Liriano is exempt in 2010; otherwise, he is non-exempt. Can I get a clarification?

I think it depends on his number of starts the first year, but he should still be exempt. Actually, he is, because regardless, he had 4 starts. If it were starts, I think it'd be 5.

Ok...he is exempt because he had 4 starts in his first year...that helps...

We should really have a sticky in this forum with the exemption numbers. I always forget the numbers, also. We decided a year or so ago that if a player got called up for a super short stint like a September call up, that they shouldn't be victimized of one of their exempt years. At the same time, I also forget the numbers for what classifies as minor league eligible.

We should have one thread that's dedicated to just that.

I will email Mooch.

I asked him before and his response was lukewarm at best.

I just looked at the "Rules" sticky and it doesn't say anything about the 50 or more at bat and I don't remember the pitching numbers regarding loss of an exemption year.

ETA: Nevermind, I found it.

For the benefit of the new members (or continuing members who don't remember the details), the information about exemptions and minor league eligibility are in the rules thread (as Juan mentioned a few posts up). Information about exemptions is under Major League Rosters, item D (Keeper Roster) and information about minor league roster eligibility is under Minor League Rosters, item B (eligibility).

Clint/Mooch has had a change of heart, Juan. He'd love to play. He just had to be sure he'd have time for two keeper teams.

Did you expect anything more from a White Sox fan? ;)

Hey, you have Juan Pierre now. How could you not be excited? ;)

Hey Clint,

Weren't you in this league when it started? If so, you should update your sig with those records! :)

I was but I have no idea what my records were. I think BigBadB took over my old team so I'll have to check his team history for my Roadkill past.

Reyes- 106.2

Reimold - Exempt

Saunders - Exempt

King Felix - 750

Volstad - Exempt

Zimmermann - Exempt (will immediately go on DL)

Minors:

Depending on who I keep, Halladay or Morneau will determine my point availability. I could drop Halladay and keep Morneau and have about 320 points to play with, or I could keep Halladay, drop Morneau and be under the cap by a hundred or so. Thus, I'm open to make moves. Let me know should anyone be interested. I'll even trade my best minor leaguers to get an exempt bat or a low point total bat or SP.

I've changed my mind. I'm keeping Adrian Gonzalez and putting Ian Kinsler into the draft.
Looks like your mind isn't all you've changed. :D

Eh. I wish somebody would trade with me so I don't have to keep agonizing over this. In light of recent events...I've changed again. Kinsler will be my keeper.
