Yeah, that was bad. Kane circled around Cleary rather than staying with him as he drove to the net. Nice time to get lazy, 88.

i don't care. i'd rather play the preds to tell you the truth.

let san jose choke their lives away again to the 8 seed.

I agree. I'd rather have Nashville too. Less travel and we seem to be able to handle them better.

If the Hawks and Wings meet again this year, you gotta think the Wings have the huge mental edge having beaten the Hawks 2 times in Chicago since getting healthy and on a role. Hopefully, someone else knocks out the Wings because I don't see the result being any different than last year if we play them.

thats a hugggggeee loss

Really? One OT loss in the last 8 games, and it's a huge loss? If anything, that's a hugggggeee overreaction.

Heartbreak weekend for Chicago sports huh sulley? Cubs blow 2 leads in the 7th and 8th innings to lose 2 of 3 to Dusty Baker. Bulls choke multiple times against the worst team in the last 20 years and lose where a win would give them a great shot of making the playoffs (and will probably lose to Toronto in a few mins), and the Hawks lose the #1 seed because of a "skills competition" in San Jose and a OT loss to our arch rivals and hottest and possibly best team in hockey.

i had no hopes for this season anyway for the cubs. the bulls would be better off not making the playoffs and trying to win the lottery again. the hawks, well, as bukie said, they won't play detroit until possibly the wcf.

marginally bad day for chicago, but i've seen worse.

I can't get too upset about a loss that doesn't mean too much and as everyone else said I think Nashville is the better match-up anyways. I like the Hawks chances against any one but Detroit and that one is a toss up so I'm ready to get started.

When do the schedules get announced?

Today's results assure that the Hawks and Wings can't play each other until the conference finals.

Not true. if LA beats Vancouver and Wings beat Coyotes then the sharks will play the Kings and the Hawks would play the Wings in round 2

we'll see if you feel that way when we're playing vancouver in the second round instead of phoenix

it means a lot for a possible second round matchup

Meh, it's the playoffs. You have to beat good teams anyways plus I'd rather play Vancouver then Detroit.

if we had won today, that would have meant we'd only have to play one of the vancouver/san jose/detroit trio. now we'll have to beat 2 of them.

that's a huge difference to me. i don't think phoenix is on the same level as those guys right now.

That's right, if the Sharks, Hawks, Wings and Kings all win, then the Hawks play the Wings in the second round.

It looks like we don't play until Friday. I don't want to wait that long.

Are they showing games on Comcast again this year? I don't have VS and I don't want to spend ALL my money at the bar (which I will do if I have to. I'm not missing playoff games).

Versus has a lot of the games, as was posted above, but I think Comcast will be picking them up again for local audiences. Which means if you have CI, you'll get to watch on CSNC.

And selfishly I'm glad the games don't start until Friday because I'll be out of town and probably staying at hotels that don't have Versus until Friday.

I really think the Hawks getting past the first round means our 2nd round opponent will be facing a hot Hawks team (i.e. one of the best teams in the league).

We match up much better against Nashville than Colorado. I'm a little upset that we don't have home ice, but it's not like San Jose is prone to choking or anything.

I'm glad the games don't start until Friday. We just played five games in eight days. Give the guys a little bit of a rest to make sure we're 100% for the start of the playoffs.

Or it will give Niemi time to forget how well he's been playing. As far as I know we don't have guys nursing injuries that could use a few days. Except Johnsson, I guess. But at this point I'm not even sure how much good he would do.

The Hawks haven't done so well with deadline deals the last few years. Last year it was the 100% useless Sammy Pahlsson, and this year Johnsson. I still wish we had Wiz back more than Barker, even after the unpleasantness with Seabrook, but still.

Ahhh, the Hawks don't start until Friday because of...the Globetrotters.

I don't agree with Sassone that the Preds get any advantage from the extra day off. But it's still pretty damn stupid of the UC scheduling people to build in that sort of conflict.
