I like the style of the nexus theme, but I find it difficult to tell which threads have been read and which ones haven't. The contrast between the little white icon and the little yellow icon next to each thread isn't great enough.

 

Tim, if you find the time, maybe you can change the color of the unread topic icons to some kind of blue (like the one the text has). That way it's clear which threads are unread but it's not as much of an eyesore as the dark ones. If that's possible; I don't know enough about the programming stuff to know if it can be done.

I'm still not able to see the front page or anything like that. When I go to www.northsidebaseball.com I'm still seeing the old front page. Perhaps if I cleared my cache or something like that it might work?

The default is the old style board. Read back in the thread on how to change the board style to "Nexus".

So Werner has the right IP address in Europe, but I still don't have it here in Naperville. :evil:

 

Sorry this is taking twice as long as I thought it would to propagate guys, but it is totally out of my control. My other alternative to this awkward hybrid stage was just totally shutting down for a couple days. To those having issues, please hang on and lets see how much gets cleared up when the IP resolves correctly for everyone.

3) there will be an option there to change "my board style" or something similar

okay, I darkened one of the icons to a deeper shade of yellow to announce unread folders. Seems to stand out a bit more between read and unread at the main index for the nexus stuff, doesn't it?

More specifically...

 

I changed the announcement star to blue-green for both read and unread to end the confusion with the yellow meaning read.

 

Then I changed the yellow to a darker yellow for the unread forums and announcements.

 

Let me know if I'm on a decent path before I spend my entire friday editing icons we won't want to use. :)

I came up with a much easier solution. There are plenty of free image sets out there to pick from, so I used an entirely different image set. I kind of like this one because it gives a red-white-blue feel without being too in your face about it.

Yep, if you were online a few minutes ago, I blazed through about eight sets of them, then settled in on that set.

Just switched over to Nexus. I'll give it some time but I really don't like it right away. There is way too little contrast between the gray background and the bright white text area. Also, the "RE: SITE DOWNTIME TODAY/TONIGHT/FRIDAY" above every single post is wayyyyyy too big.

 

 

Maybe it'll grow on me.

keep giving good feedback - I've already made several changes to the template today to overcome some of these issues.

Yeah, I've kept it all day and it looks a lot better than when the day began.

 

The submit button being so far down on the "post" screen is still kinda annoying.

The html / css inspector in Chrome is unspeakably cool. I hadn't used it until today. wow that's done well.

liking the new format more and more as i continue to use it... I agree with banedon about the submit button being somewhat far down on the page when posting; keep up the great work though
