2009 Regular Season - Week 1 - Bears vs Pack - 9/13 7pm NBC

Blame the Wr's, blame the line, blame Clark or whoever if you must, but to me I blame Ron [expletive] Turner. What a horrific way to start the 1st game of the season, with a new QB, in a hostile environment, against your biggest rival. Just absolutely horrible game plan to start the game. They made no attempt at getting Forte established until very late in the 2nd quarter, and beginning of the 3rd. Why? Why in the world would they think its a good idea to come out throwing every damn play, and putting all the pressure on your pumped up, overly excited brand new QB? Im so sick of Ron Turner and his horse [expletive] playcalling. Every year its the same stupid ass play calling.

So the defense looked good and the offense can't really look any worse.

And a couple of inexplicably bad mistakes were made and we at least had a late lead (granted, with the help of the refs).

Any word on Urlacher or Tinoisamoa?

Haha, did you know that Rex Grossman, for as wild and crazy as he was, only had one 4 INT game with the Bears, the MNF game against the Cardinals. Jay did it in his first game. Woo hoo!

Just to lighten what I'm sure is a crappy mood in here...

I have watched this video 10 times and I have no idea why that's funny? Because the ref is laughing about something?

The ref is laughing at our hilariously dumb fake punt on 4th and 11.

And Jay Cutler had never done it before.

There are plenty of positives to take away from the game. The offense dominated basically the entire second half and were driving well in the first half also. The defense held the Packers to two long-range FG attempts and notched a safety (along with the one-yard TD) until that last blown play by Vasher. Turnovers and special teams gaffes led directly to 10 Packers points and additionally killed two drives on the Packers end of the field.

I'm not worried about this team at all, aside from the injuries to the LBs. They really did have their way with the Packers, just made too many mistakes.

You aren't worried about the inexperienced receivers? The terrible o-line play? Cutler's bad decision making? The average coach that Lovie is? The poor DBs the Bears put out there?

You're underrating the Packers a bit here. It's not like they were chopped liver. They played similarly in the face of a tough Bears team.

I was more upset about the general decision-making. Look, Mannelly's decision was really dumb, but that's not why the Bears lost. The problem was with the turnovers. If they don't turn the ball over, this is an easy win. I'm not an expert, but I think that the route running was sloppy and the Packers keyed on stopping Olsen. The answer was running the ball, effectively using your dump-offs and forcing the Pack to spread the defense out. They did in the second half and were very effective.

Oh, and we really need a top CB. Vasher's lost two steps and his reactions are terrible. Tillman is on the decline as well.

He'll be fine.

It's after the failure of the fake punt run.

Awesome game guys, im not gonna come here to rub it in your faces or anything. It was a fun/gut wretching game which I expected.

I predicted a 7 point packer win so I guess I was close.

Hester really impressed me tonight. I was never big on him at all, but he played well.

My apologies to UMFan, Trib is reporting that Urlacher will require surgery on his wrist.

Sweet. BRB I'm going to go cut myself. What a shitty last few months.

cool. Season over. This team won't win a playoff game, our strength now turns into a weakness with urlacher and pina injured for 6 weeks at the very least. I'm just holding out hope for 2011. Our entire coaching staff is donkey poop.

Actually what this game proved, is that this team needs help at all different positions especially CB and WR.

SWEET! If tonight was any indication it really shouldn't be that big a deal.

you didn't realize those were the weak spots before this game?

if not for the injuries, there would be some fairly encouraging things to take from this game, unless you could see cutler playing that terribly all year....

but the injuries really, really suck. :(
