Well, as long as you aren't a diehard Cardinals fan, you are no douchebag in my book. I don't understand your way of fandom but I respect it.

 

Personally rivalry is what makes sports great and allows team sports to connect one year with the next, one generation with the next. As much as it sucks feeling crappy because some hick white trash losers from So. Ill/Missouri are laughing at our misfortune and celebrating their idiot team being good, its part of rivalry. It was just as fun watching us stomp all over the Cardinals the last few years, so you live with the good and bad. The sad thing is as a Cubs fan its been mostly bad, but I'd still rather live another 100 years without a Cubs World Series title than live one hour as a Cardinals fan. You know how many showers it would take to wash that stink off?

It's really quite simple. Father from St. Louis, mother from Wheaton. Both Fans and niether hated the other. When one team was eliminated they both rooted for the other. My fondest wish is to see both play a post season game in my lifetime.

 

Furthermore I don't understand the hate thing. That's your bag. It's a game. NOT war.
