That was back when Ben Johnson was really the only major track athlete to be caught taking anything. It wasn't until a few years later that all the sprinters started dropping like flies. People are a lot more suspicious after that happened.

maybe, but ben johnson was 1988. michael johnson peaked in the mid '90s. there was a lot more knowledge about doping and how important it was by 1996.

I thought it was generally assumed that every single elite track athlete is doing something. It'd be impossible to rise to that level and not be doing something.

This world's was a disgrace for USA, we need to cancel mamby pamby sports like football and basketball and take our crown as the world's best in T+F.

 

First eliminate the foreign track scholarships to U.S. schools.

2nd. eliminate spring practice for football and encourage the kids to actually get in shape by going out for a spring sport.

3rd. discourage all other coaches using running as a penalty/punishment for anything, this gives the act of running a negative connotation.
