is a .730 OPS good for a corner outfielder who's making $16M?

By month: .955, .657, .585, .992, .431

he's certainly the model of consistency.

The good news is, if that trend continues (1 awesome month, 2 awful months), he'll be due for a great October if necessary.

Gregg really sucks... wind howling out and we'd be tied right now

we're the cubs - no he wouldn't have

ok so because we're the cubs the wind would have magically changed between the top of the 9th and bottom of the 9th.

I forgot that the Pirates have gotten all the breaks over the last 20 years.

Does anyone know how closely those numbers correlate to the Cubs' strength of schedule? For example, did we play teams like Pittsburgh and Cincinnati more often in April and July than other months?

Didn't you learn about the weather gods while you were getting your degree?

A. Ramirez

Season Avg: .000

Yahoo had a .000 listed as the average for Aaron Miles. I didn't even think about it until I saw your post.

i must have been out sick the day we discussed the impacts of woebegone baseball franchises on the weather.

Im starting to think that Jeff Baker might be for real. Hes sure been an upgrade over Mike Fontenot and the troll.

Tom Gorzalanny is really good against bad teams.

Was Sam Fulds catch in the 9th really as impressive as Pat made it ound on the radio?

His faceplant against the wall was pretty impressive

Like OO said a couple days ago:

"I always love how, when the Cubs reach their lowest point of the season, the Pirates have been there to pick them back up again.

Smacked around by Detroit and the White Sox? Pirates to the rescue!

Losing streaks on the road at STL and SD? The Pirates were there!"

The Pirates are useful for something.

Yeah, he initially had a bad read on it, meaning he had to run like heck to make the catch, resulting in him hitting the wall pretty hard.

It still would have been a difficult catch if he got a good read/good jump on it.
