They have. And I think Lou's done a really good job keeping them afloat, but maybe that's more how bad the rest of the division was.

I don't believe that. I've seen Cub teams tank, and when that happens they just lose. Almost regardless of competition. I know the division isn't that strong, but I still think the Cubs have done a good job not letting themselves just sink under the weight of the challenges they've faced this season.

These next 7 will be tough.

Now with Z still shaky, even more so.

I'm definitely concerned.

I'm convinced this umpire has no strike zone tonight. He's just calling balls and strikes randomly.

And Major League Baseball will continue to do absolutely nothing about it.

Wow, bob with a little bit of snark regarding soriano. yikes.

Bob being Bob.

I don't have any problem with it. Soriano has no idea how to hustle and should be called out for it.

Probably not, but there's a better-than-average chance we get someone better than Hendry.

And what are basing this on?

Look around baseball and look at who the GM's are year after year. Hendry really isn't that bad so that a replacement would be likely to be significantly better than him or even better at all in the big picture.

Hence the second clause in my old sig

What did he say? I'm stuck watching the Rockies feed. Bob has always hated, Soriano, imo.

He does like to take a shot at him whenever possible. It's funny considering Bob isn't even half the player Soriano was (which is probably why he gets so annoyed at him for "not playing the game the right way")

Len said that Soriano might have been able to end up at second if he ran a little harder on that looping line drive and bob said in a snarky voice "Are you surprised?"

I'd love to know the amount of overlap in people who watch Cubs and Sox games regularly. I can't imagine it's high enough to justify the sort of advertisements CSN runs during games

Len said something about Soriano not turning it on when he saw the ball drop in. Bob said, "You surprised?"

and he might have made an out, which would be foolish down 3. Or worse, he could have got hurt.

Continued lack of hustle and constant boneheaded play will do that to someone.

Maybe Soriano can call up to the booth and tell Bob to knock it off.

And then tell Bob that he can't see him.

I don't have any problem with it. Soriano has no idea how to hustle and should be called out for it.

The problem I have with it is he was the only guy to come through in the inning. Ramirez looked like a rookie in his first big league at bat and Soto couldn't make contact either. While Soriano might not have hustled, he did drive in a run which is more than we can say for anyone else in the line-up tonight. What would they have said if he would have been thrown out trying to get to second?

This, they would have yelled at him for being stupid and having to know the score and situation.

Yeah, I tend to agree with this.
