Record with Aaron Miles on team

Just wondering if someone can post what Cubs record is when Miles a) plays and b) is simply on the active roster.

 

My friend and I have decided that he is a mini-card who was sent to the cubs to destroy our empire :twisted:

Neifi Perez was actually a very good defensive shortstop. Aaron Miles is Neifi without the glove.

The only two seasons Neifi hit as badly as Miles were his first and his last, in a total of 109 ABs. Miles has been much worse than Neifi

And also because he is DeRosa's replacement that we spent 2.5 mil/year on when we could have gotten the same production (and have) from people in the org already making rookie salaries. We could have had 2.5 million extra to use on upgrades in season. And the worst part is that it's for 2 years. Who the hell would given a player of his ability and his age a 2 year deal just boggles my mind every single day.

I mean, Len is a total pro but you can tell he is thinking "god this guy sucks" when he announces him.

I don't think the contract is a big reason why people hate Miles, it's one of the reasons some people don't like Hendry, but I think the Miles thing is primarily production-based. But you do bring up a good point in that some people view him as DeRosa's replacement, even though he's more of Cedeno's replacement.

Seriously, Ryan Freel served the exact same purpose as Miles. The diffence is, while Miles sucks offenseively and defensively in the infield, Freel sucks offensively and plays a pretty decent infield and outfield. Also Freel can run and seemed to have intensity thats not found anywhere in Miles.

I suppose the 1 good thing about having Miles around is that hes the one thing that everyone on this board agrees on. We have a lot of people with a lot of opinions on pretty much every player to ever wear a Cubs uni, but we can all agree that Aaron Miles is a horrific waste of space and money and has no business playing major league baseball.

 

We need to turn this into a Miles photshop thread. Id get the ball rolling, only I dont really know how to use photshop.

I don't think you'll have to worry about that too much anymore. Miles was getting benched before he hit the DL. And now the Cubs have Baker to fill the platoon role Miles was trying to fill at 2nd and Fox to backup Ramirez at 3rd. So unless Theriot gets hurt more seriously, Miles will probably only see 1-2 starts for the rest of the month.
