8/5 Cubs (Harden) @ DB's Reds (Lehr) 6:10pm CSN, XM-186

The Cards are sending Kyle Lohse, who seems to actually be remembering that his name is Kyle Lohse, against Jon Niese. We might have a chance of going up a game if Harden continues to pitch like Harden.

Yeah right. They just put up 7 in 9 innings against Johan Santana and K Rod. We are going to have to win to keep pace.

That really pissed me off last night. They have to be due for a cold stretch.

See I wasnt even pissed about the Stl game last night. I was actually pretty happy, because Pinerio finally came back to reality, and hopefully this is a sign of things to come. The Mets lineup is a total joke, and he gave up 7 runs and didnt strike out 1 batter thru 5 innings. Thats the Pinerio we all know and love.

As much as it sucks for the Cubs, I still found it entertaining to see the Mets collapse like that. It's going to be so easy to get tickets to those games in September.

Tony LaRussa sold his soul to Satan. That's the only explanation.

That's just flat out ignorant, erik.

Tony LaRussa IS Satan.

Justin Lehr's career ML numbers:

5.32 ERA

88 IP

95 H

51:45 K:BB

1.591 WHIP

Justin Lehr's career MiL numbers:

3.92 ERA

1,070 IP

1,140 H

767:318 K:BB

1.363 WHIP

So, he's not good. Losing this one, no matter how it happens, might be as demoralizing as Sunday.

Yeah, he was decent enough in the minors, but we should be able to hit him. We need to be patient, though.

CUBS are 21-14 when they average 3.7 P/PA or less.... 36-34 when they don't

Swing away, boys! Except for you, Hill.

I'd rather have Hill swing and try to make contact than strike out looking at a meatball down the middle

Sorry if I missed any news and whatnot, but is Theriot's arm alright?

I haven't heard any news, which is a good thing I guess.

Oh and yay I'm gonna get to 3000 posts this evening, probably in this thread

Just a little fun fact to brighten up your afternoon...........

Fukudome AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA IsoD RBI%
batting 1st 74 15 25 6 3 2 13 15 12 0.338 0.440 0.581 1.021 0.383 4.39 0.102 0.367

SEXY! It sure does seem like hes getting to 3 ball counts in just about every at bat since being moved to the leadoff spot, which I guess the 4.39 p/pa shows.

What's really sexy is that rbi%..... 0.367 when the team average is 0.169 and the next highest rate on the team is A Ramirez at 0.250 !!!
