Meaning just that.

So meaning nothing but a vague allusion to the fact that we're cursed or we'll always choke no matter who is on the roster? Or nonsense similar to that? Okay.

Because the Cubs have proven, even one single time, to disprove that? Okay.

What does the logo on the jersey have to do with the team on the field? Nothing. This "we can't win because we're the Cubs" garbage should be viewed as nothing more than a joke.

Cubs need to find a way to get back in this game. No excuse to not be blasting Lehr. We need to go into Colorado with a 1 game lead.

I said early in the game thread we "need" this sweep just because of that...I have a "bad feeling" about the Rockies series, similar to the stupid-ass "feeling" I had before the Rays series last year.

Man, 7-0 Phillies

even if we get into the playoffs, no one's beating the Phillies

Plenty thought the same last year about the Cubs

I don't agree. I remember fans of the Mets, Phillies, and Dodgers all hoping to draw the Cubs towards the end of the season. I think it's because despite having several good hitters and pitchers, there are none that really people stay up at night worying about. Of course most fans are idiots.

Well some of fans thought the Cubs would lose, not because of the players that are on the field, but because of the fact that they're the Cubs.

Once they actually win, then that line of thinking becomes garbage. Not until.

I didn't say "all" or even "most". I get the idea behind some thinking the Phils are invincible, but it's baseball (or even life in general)...the "best" team doesn't always win.

Can you really see the Cubs getting by the Phillies?

We have enough trouble hitting in the playoffs anyway, but going up against Lee and Hamels with that offense that shelled our best pitcher this year already is just scary.

No, it's definitely ridiculous garbage right now. If the Cubs have the best team, they'll probably win most of the time. Sometimes they won't. If you genuinely believe that they can't win because they're the Cubs, and it seems like you do, I really don't know what to tell you besides that's absrud.
