Hawkins ejected for no apparent reason, if you're not watching

He was arguing balls & strikes, was warned to stop, and then showed up the umpire.

Hawkins ejected for no apparent reason, if you're not watching

I DVR'd it. There was apparent reason. He was gesturing to the ump, arguing the strike call. The ump mouthed to Cooper: "I warned him."

He's so flipping angry

Not the first time he's gone apecrap.

The game at Wrigley in July of 2004 in which the Cubs blew an 8-2 lead and Pujols homered 3 times, Hawkins went OFF and had to be restrained. Until my dying day, I'll say he tried to punch the ump, but one of his teammates grabbed his arm before he could move it forward.

Why is Valverde allowed as much time to warm up as he wants? Shouldn't the Astros be punished by having to bring someone in immediately?

I guess in case of injury or ejection the replacement pitcher gets as much time as he needs to get warm.

I know that's how it is with injury. I don't think you could make him pitch without letting him warm up. The injury risk would be too great and the Union would have a cow.

Well sure, but how is he in situations where the pitcher changes mid-AB? :)
