Generic discussion: favorite uniforms in baseball?

I'm cool with most uniforms as long as they a) aren't sleeveless/vests and b) aren't "alternates" (I can't think of a single team whose alternates I like)

 

This past weekend was the worst.....Red shirts vs. Blue shirts for at least 3 of the games, maybe all 4. UGH

Worst, I'd go with the Rockies home uniforms (I just think they look rather plain and the color scheme is dull).

 

Wrong. They have pinstripes so they are de facto awesome. The Rox actually have four different home jerseys and the only one that I really like is the full sleeved white pinstripe. The vest pinstriped one is just silly because I can't stand vests and the black tops are just blah and the purple tops are gross.

 

oh, and as far as the fourth picture in the set goes....few things beat seeing Eric Byrnes flat on his face.

Also, any uniforms that are the "vest" type should be banned from the game. I mean seriously.

The Royals alternate powder blue is amazing, I dont know if you anti-alternates realized this or not.

 

The Giants cream/off-white is really good and very throwbacky

 

Pretty much anything that seems sort of like a throwback looks amazing to me. Most everything else is too 90's EXTREME (think the NFL Panthers) or doesn't have a good color scheme.

 

The A's have good jerseys too.

i like the thirds. they provide some sorely lacking color in the game. white vs gray is so unappealing and boring. diehards won't care cause it's baseball. casual fans won't get interested because the uniforms look so boring.

 

i like the alternates but i think that the best alternate unis are the ones that don't look like either home or jerseys, such as the cubs thirds and the nats thirds.

 

for those who hate the cubs blue alternates, was there this much complaining when the road unis were blue tops and white unstriped pants in the 80s?

Not my favorite, but I've always been partial to the 1980s jerseys.

Personally, I always disliked them, even as a kid. As bad as I thinkt he blues are now at least they're not the those hideous pullovers from back in the day. A jersey without buttons is horrendous.

I really like the DBacks unis all the way around (home, alternate, away). The new color scheme is just awesome.

 

Oldmiss is right. Pinstripes with high socks are awesome.

 

Royals powder blues are nice.

 

I like most of the Astros stuff.

 

I give best hat award to the Rangers for the traditional blue hat.
