Should be leading off for good.. I know no one is used to seeing out leadoff man get on base, but that's how it's done.

Just so I understand your logic here, you make fun of the rest of us for celebrating a single good game for Fukudome, and supposedly ignoring his bad RBI numbers (of all stats), yet one game of Fuld, after basically years of subpar output in the minor leagues, should be our lead off hitter for good.

One game of Fukudome: Who cares? He doesn't get RUNS BATTED IN

One game of Fuld: Leadoff hitter for good

That about right?

Weren't you just complaining about people saying good things about kosuke after one good game? You know Fuld was OPSing in the .700's in AAA, right?

Ummm, Kosuke has sucked for four of his 5 of his last 7 months in the bigs. BIG sample size there.

Kinda like how Fuld has been wasting away in AAA playing very mediocre for the last 2 or 3 years?

Yeah, but Sam Fuld has fundamentals. Combine that with Bob Brenly and the World Series is basically ours.

Not to mention the fact that Fuld was annointed by Hendry as being"untouchable"

You honestly think Sam Fuld would out-produce him in the same time period?

Anyway, Wells is at 97 tosses. Does he come back out for 8?

Depends on how this inning goes. If his spot doesn't come up, I think he'll come out on a short leash.

No, mlb.tv, I don't "have what it takes to be a big league ump". I don't want to go to umpire camp - that sounds terrible. Quit pimping your crappy commercials to me between innings, I payed like 100 bucks for this feed. Just show some trivia questions or something.

No, not at all. C'mon, seriously now. ANYONE involved with the Cubs have been pulling their hair out with Fukudome for a long time now. Of course Fuld doesn't have the at bats, but could it be that the kid MIGHT, just MIGHT add some life to a team that needs it?

Just sayin.

For a leadoff hitter, avg. and obp should be more important than a middle of the order guy where youd expect a higher OPS.

And his avg and OBP in AAA this season are .286/.358. Decent considering he doesn't slug, but those numbers are likely to be worse in the majors with better pitchers.

His AAA numbers aren't better than Fukudome's MLB numbers. I'm not sure what kind of life he would add to the team, and I doubt it would be helpful.

Bradley loves walks. He'll flip his bat, clap his hands, really animated about the ball 4.

So dusty was wrong, some people do enjoy walking.

haha, Bob said the pirates pitcher looks like Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite. Didn't see that one coming from Bob.

Now I definitely don't want him as manager.
