Also, why do people keep forgetting that Kenny Lofton and Aramis Ramirez were only two of the three who came over in that trade?

Who was the third?

I thought the deal was just Aramis, Lofton and cash for Hernandez, Hill and Bruback.

I think he's thinking of Randall Simon who came over for Ray Sadler in a separate trade.

He could be. That was definitely another decent deadline move by Hendry.

Didn't we make the trade for Simon later on, like after the deadline?

Yep, August 17 was the Simon deal.

Aramis and Lofton came over July 22.

I didn't realize they were separate deals that occurred almost a month apart. For some reason I'm remembering them coming over at the same time. And since Simon came over on August 17th, it was a wire deal and not a trade. I'll shut up and lurk now.

it is thread reactions like these that make this place no different than a place like ateaseweb.com except over there you can cuss and be rude to your hearts delight without the fear of a timeout

So you're complaining that we're not vomiting praise for a random and completely unfunny thread?

The internet should contain nothing but complements and cute smilies.

I liked seeing all the trades.

"Jim's Hole and one ball" is the funniest comment I've ever read on here.

I've been thinking of starting a thread to address the real reason why the Cubs stink this year: they have too many guys with 2 first names on the team. The list:

Derrek Lee

Aaron Miles

Milton Bradley

Sean Marshall

Kevin Gregg

Ted Lilly

You could also make a case for:

Kevin Hart (remember Hart Lee Dykes?)

Jake Fox (mulder)

Kosuke Fukudome

But now I can't because that would not be educational enough to warrant your attention. Thanks a lot.

Fukudome is a first name too? Awesome.
