Milton had a pretty good series vs the Cardinals, and according to him "hes back". Lets hope so, Id love to see a hotter than hell Bradley the entire 2nd half. I loved his quotes from yesterdays game.

"I've been working ever so hard to get my stroke, get my rhythm, get my eye, and to end it like that was disappointing," Bradley said, calling the last at-bat "terrible."

"I walked about 37 times today," he said. "Suddenly, I'm going to take a third strike right there? I got my rhythm, I feel good. I'm sure on [ESPN's] 'K-Zone' it was a ball. It's disappointing, but what can you do? You move on. It ain't the first time, it won't be the last."

And here is the quote from him claiming hes back, and back for good.

"I understand what I'm doing wrong," Bradley said. "I looked at my tape from last year. I feel it now. So when I tell you I'm back, I'm back. You can mark it down. I'll be hitting for the rest of the year. I'm back."

Lets hope so

Oh I forgot this quote from the same article.

"We're a team -- 25 guys going out there every day, grinding. You play 162 games for a reason. It doesn't matter where you're at right now. The Cardinals haven't won jack."

So much for him not being able to handle the Wrigley crowd. Maybe the booing and whatnot gets him fired up.

Yea I dont know, Im just going to assume hes had the majority of his RH at bats at Wrigley, and thats why his numbers are like that. I could be wrong, but it shocked me to see such a major difference like that, and that hes been better at home.

Last night was probably the best he has looked left-handed all year. Although I could easily see him going on a tear and then getting injured. Seems very Cub-like.

The Ballpark in Arlington is a launching pad.

It's known for it, but really not that different from Wrigley in terms of HRs per year.

Now, US Cellular Field is a launching pad.

OK but he has zero at bats at The Ballpark in Arlington this year, so Im not really sure what this has to do with anything.

He played for the Rangers last year. NonProfitCow was probably trying to say that we shouldn't expect him to repeat last year's performance.

Which wouldnt make any sense because there is nobody in this thread saying they expect to repeat last years performance. Hell its the ASB, Id say its impossible for him to do that at this point. It just seemed like a really odd comment to make right now.

And we don't really need him to repeat last year's performance. If he could just get his OPS in the .850-.875 range it would make quite a bit of difference.

Ok nice response, I still have no clue what you meant by it, but oh well.

Just poking fun at all of the Milton Bradley sucks, he's an average hitter without Arlington posts.

A .216 BABIP on the road vs. .354 at home would certainly factor in.

The thing I like is that he's still walking plenty on the road (.147 IsoD vs. .126) and is actually better in that department away from Wrigley. It's just seems like the hits aren't falling in. Not sure whether he's not making as good contact on the road (i.e. lower LD%) or whether it's just luck, though. But the walking leads me to believe it's more luck since it doesn't seem like he's changing his approach at all on the road and swinging at everything.

Amen brother, at least he didn't shower them with false praise being diplomatic and all. Screw the Cardinals.

Some of Bradley's splits are just bizarre...

He's hitting .170 in 94 AB in the 4th or 5th slot.

Everywhere else in the lineup (mostly 3rd) and pinch-hitting, he's hitting .302 in 116 AB.

Somehow, despite taking all but nine of his AB in the 3rd through 6th spot in the order, he only has 21 RBI through 84 games (71 played) of the season. $7 million right fielder, and he's on pace to hit 43 RBI? You have to go all the way back to 2007 to find a year where he hit so few.

Too bad there weren't any other corner outfielders on the free agent market for Hendry to consider.

(For the record, defensive liability and all, I wanted Adam Dunn.)

I don't read the "Cubs Discussion" thread, so I don't know if this is posted somewhere already, but:

Friday marked the 73rd game of the year for Milton Bradley. Bradley is two games short of the 75 games played that would vest his option for the third year of the contract he signed in the off-season ... the vesting option would pay Bradley $12 million in 2011.
http://chicagocubsonline.com/

I was surprised to read that. I have been under the assumption that his option would not be "picked up" but apparently it is going to "vest" already! That's another year of a high-priced bust.
