i gotta say, I don't feel that bad about this loss

i think the Cubs have finally numbed me. I'm positive Randy Wells will never win a game in a Cubs uniform. Its become impossible.

Stats and slump talk aside, this game is why I question this team's ability to truly have a big year. It seems way too easy for them to just fall right back into this no-offense BS. Losing is one thing, a repeatedly anemic offense is another.

When you *have* to play Mike Fontenot against an extremely tough lefty, and have to play, or even call up Andres Blanco, your team has some problems. There are several glaring holes on this team that keep them from being last year's team. That said, they can still contend for the playoffs with some smart moves and a bit of luck. Also, we can't have almost half the lineup hovering around .200.

I agree...even if we come back and win this game on a fluke hr...this is just more proof that this team cannot hit. And Im not gonna lie, im pretty shocked. There is a lot of talent in this batting lineup, i dont get it. :-k :-k

What's the point in starting Fontenot if you don't even trust him in the 8th to hit? It's not like his defense makes up for his lack of hitting lefties.
