Carrie Muskat reports that infielder Aaron Miles could hit the disabled list Wednesday.

First baseman Jake Fox and infielder Andres Blanco were both seen at Wrigley Field, so one of the two will be the replacement for Miles. The Cubs are trying to improve their offense, so it would be a surprise if Fox didn't get the call.

Hopefully he doesn't come back.

I wonder if they're planning to make a second move. It doesn't make sense to bring two players from Iowa other than if they are really worried about Scales being out several more days with his illness and so seeing how he's feeling before deciding whether to go with the middle or corner infielder.

If Blanco gets the call, Fox may as well turn in his 2 weeks notice. Say what you will about Foxes defense, but Blanco has 6 errors on the season to Foxes 3, so if your going to have a crappy defender on the team, you may as well go with the hot bat.

Blanco had to come up. No other backup SS with Miles on the DL. Theriot is hurting already so its was needed.

These 3 transactions would seem to have an impact on the 40 man roster or am I misremembering. None of these 3 players are on the 40 man

We only had like 34-37 guys on the 40-man to start the year, so we should be alright.

And if there is ever a 40-man roster crunch they'd simply transfer Chad Fox to the 60-day DL to create a spot.
