Based on the comments he's made, I sincerely hope not.

We might see him up in the majors as a coach (bench or base) next season, though.

That's not a given. I think Trammel has a good shot.

It's not Lou's fault. If you want to point fingers you can point right at Jim Hendry for putting together one of the worst benches in recent Cub history, and a bad bullpen. Once the injuries hit the bench was exposed.

Lou may made some head scratching moves, but he's not to blame for the season.

A new world's record: Nine posts before someone blames Hendry. Now we're blaming Hendry for Lou's senility/dementia/bad decisions.

be honest- did you even read his post?

Yeah, I read his post. The discussion was about Lou's senility, dementia, bad decisions, inability to string together a complete sentence, etc. and H4H blamed Hendry for putting together a weak bench. I don't think a weak bench can be blamed for mental instability.

I may give up on the Cubs entirely if Sandberg becomes manager.

There will be many casual Cubs fans who will wet themselves if Sandberg is a legit candidate. It amazes me how many fans think that being a former player for the franchise somehow makes them more desirable as a manager; it's irrelevant to me

Screw that, Sosa for manager! Dawson for hitting coach! Dunston for bench coach! Bielecki for pitching coach!

Somebody tell me why Sandberg would be so bad. I mean, are we talking a Steve Stone-for-GM level of cluelessness?

And what comments are you referring to?

Sandberg believes strongly in small ball and being aggressive. Bunt runners over, hit and run, straight steals, manufacturing runs, playing the game the right way.

A couple of weeks ago he had his #3 hitter sac bunt with a runner on first and second and no outs, IN THE FIRST INNING.

Case closed, he shouldn't be managing the Cubs.

If a player sac bunt do that always mean a manager told him to. Maybe the player did it on his own?

Generally yes, the manager tells him to do it, especially if said player is the #3 hitter.

I don't think any #3 hitter in all of baseball has every laid down a sac bunt in the 1st inning unless the manager called it. I'll go all the way down to tee-ball with that assertion. It's just that stupid.
