Didnt want to start a new thread about this but I see Peoria is playing a DH on Tues. Can I buy tickets to the 1st game and stay for the 2nd or will they be clearing it out after the 1st game?

The Chiefs' web site doesn't show a specific scheduled starting time for Game 2. That makes me think it's probably a straight doubleheader rather than a day-night.

I don't think I've ever seen a day-night DH in the time I've been following the Cubs' minor leaguers.

So no clearing of the stadium right?

Not with a straight doubeheader, like this appears to be. That only happens with day-night doubleheaders, which I don't think are common (if they happen at all) in the minors.

Sweet thats what I thought. I was pretty sure minor league double headers were usually straight doubleheaders. Looks like I may have to head to Peoria Tues, $10 for 2 games? Hell yea.

I'd go, but I have a final at 8:30 AM. :banghead:

I'm thinking of dropping in on Thursday or Friday.

Final at 8 30 you could still make it to the 2nd game. Im trying to find someone to go with, but it sucks when all your friends are actually working while Im laid off ha.

Tempting, but I got another final Wednesday morning and will need to get myself in gear to study for it.

Plus I have a take home final due by Friday that I want to be done with by Thursday. Guh.

yep, the Chiefs games will be back-to-back...think it's usually about 30-45 minutes in between. Long enough to do some field maintenance while the guys get a little something to eat. Also, these will both be 7 inning games. I'm sad I'll be at work...have a great time!

The Cub Reporter[/url]"]I asked Mason about Jeff Stevens, who appears to be the best early dividend of the DeRosa trade, although he won't be filling in at 3rd for Aramis Ramirez as DeRosa could capably have done. Stevens still has a non-existent ERA, having allowed only four hits in 14 innings. Batters are 4-45 against him for a BAA of .088, 3rd best right now in professional baseball among pitchers who've thrown at least 10 innings.

"Jeff's been very good, but he's young and he knows he wouldn't get by in the big leagues with essentially one pitch like he is here right now," said Mason. "Down the line if the bullpen keeps struggling in Chicago, I suppose they might give him a shot, but right now there's probably guys ahead of him." Mason named Kevin Hart as one of those, despite his uneven pattern so far this spring.

There's also stuff in that link about working with Ascanio and Samardzija, and how Ascanio has passed Atkins as the next starter on the depth chart for the big league club.

1B Jake Fox left Friday night's game in the top of the seventh inning after he was hit in the leg by Mark Shorey's broken bat head while making an unassisted play at first base. The broken bat cut Fox and he had to get five stitches. He has taken batting practice and infield the last two days, but has been unavailable for game action until the stitches heal. He is day-to-day.

1B/OF Russ Canzler and RHP David Cales have been promoted from Daytona to Tennessee.

Wooo Cales. Hopefully he can keep it going in AA. There's quite a bullpen in Tennessee now. Parker, Gaub, Cales, Perkins, even Schlitter and Maestri.

Perkins is now at AAA.

Fox is in the game today.

Also, Greg Reinhard gets his first start of the season. 2 perfect innings thus far.

Wow looking at his numbers why haven't I heard of this Reinhard guy before? What's his ceiling?

We got him from the Rays for Jae Kuk Ryu a few years back. He put up solid numbers in Iowa last year, and hes been pretty dominant this year so far.

Came over in the Jae-Kuk Ryu trade. You probably haven't heard much about him because he really didn't distinguish himself much in years past.

He has a 92-94 mph FB along with a slider and split. Could be a 7th inning guy, I guess.

Had to look up Guzman. 21 year old who put up decent, but not particularly noteworthy numbers in the DSL last season. Profile.

I expected Keedy to start the season in Peoria or Daytona, so it's good to see him moved up. I was vaguely hoping the Cubs would have promoted Ridling to Daytona over him, but ah well.
