Win as much as we can in this series and in St. Louis, because we don't play well in Arizona or Florida. We'll be lucky if we play .500 ball those 6 games.

Plus they're good teams.

Yes, but as poorly as the Cubs have traditionally played in those two locations, I fear losing 5 of 6 is not out of the realm of possibility.

You realize that the upcoming Marlins series is in Wrigley Field ?

Plus, Florida obviously benefited from an easy schedule to start the season. Now that they've run into that juggernaut in Pittsburgh, they've finally had their first losing streak of the season.

I honestly think Cotts will be DFA'd and Shark brought up tomorrow.

Yeah there is really no reason for him to be on the team anymore. His only job is to get lefties out and he comes in, in a 5 run game, and faces two lefties and gives up a hit and throws 4 straight balls that aren't even remotely close to the zone.

How awesome would it be if next inning, the Wrigley announcer announces that Cotts has been DFA'ed.

I think they should announce that anyone in the stands planning on having children, or that already have small children, should force them with all of their might to make them left handed because that's how much you can suck and still make millions of dollars.

It's got to be easier to learn to throw left handed than, say, write left handed, doesn't it?

Bob says "there's a real art to making a lineup"

Yeah, Lou's lineup card is a real Picasso.

It is. You don't understand a damn thing that's going on, much like a Picasso painting.

I was just saying, if I'd known then what I know now I'd have spent hours at a time working on my pitching when I was younger. If I threw 15-20 mph faster I'd be making 450K/year right now as a pitcher.

I ask my dad the question all the time why he didn't force me to do things lefthanded when I was little. I mean seriously all you have to be able to do is throw mid-high 80's with an average secondary pitch just to get noticed by a MLB team and you could at least find a spot in the minors somewhere.

I hope this line of thinking goes the way of the dodo in the next 10 years or so. It's so antiquated. There is no need for a crappy lefty when that roster spot can be used for a good righty.

It doesn't matter what hand he throws with. As long as he gets people out. I don't care if I have 5 lefties in my bullpen or zero, just so long as they can all get people out on a regular basis.
