9 more scoreless innings and he finishes at 1.99 for the year. I hope he does it. mainly cause I think they will give the Cy Young to Sabathia and I would love to see that happen when another guy put up a sub 2 era.

I hope he wins it. He deserves it without question.

I'd also point out that the lowest OPS of any MLB regular who qualifies is Yuniesky Betancourt's .607. Zack Greinke's OPS-against, from the entire league, is .612.

Both Hernandez and Grienke deserves the CY Young over CC. Now CC has had a great season, but I think the dumbass voters are going to give him serious debates because of the W/L record.

Otherwise, if the voters are smart, Grienke has been the best pitcher in the majors this year. If he doesn't get the Cy Young, then I want ever voter that didn't vote for him to have the priviliges as voters stripped, cause obviously don't take their responsibilities serious.

Worth noting is the 9 scorelss IP would bring his ERA to 1.997 or so (might have been 1.998) either way, that would round to a 2.00 ERA, he'll need just over 9 IP for it to register as a 1.99 ERA.

John Kruk, of all people, has been pushing Greinke as the obvious Cy Young winner, stating his dominance in just about every stat but wins and pointing out that wins hardly tell the story and that if Greinke were on the Yankees or some other team with a bullpen, he'd have 22 wins by now.

Maybe I'm being naive, but I would think that if John Kruk can figure something out, the necessary majority of the BBWAA's voters can as well.

If Sabathia can get to 20 Wins and 200 K's, I think he will get it. I think even if he gets to 19 W's and 200 K's there is a real good chance he gets it.

Not that I think Sabathia deserves it, but let's remember who is voting here...

Awesome so they will steal both the MVP and Cy Young then from deserving players from the Central. Why not just rewrite the rules to best Yankee-RedSox?

Yeah it's frustrating, but all you got to look to is Pedroia winning MVP last year. From here on out the award of MVP has diminished value to me. Who should win MVP from the central? Cabrera? Oh and just watching ESPN and what not, it looks like there is a push for Jeter to win a GG this year

Miguel Cabrera, maybe a interesting choice for the MVP. However if the Twins finish there sneak attack on the Tigers then I feel that Joe Mauer should be the MVP...not like that would happen but its worth a shot. As for the Cy Young it's great to see Greinkie finally healthy mentally and physically. But it's going to be a hard choice to award him the Cy Young when he is in the Central on the Royals.

Greinke and Mauer should be slam dunks.

How does Mauer become more valuable if the Twins win the division? His value is exactly the same no matter where his team finishes.

He became more valuable to the team because he become more or less the lone consistent in that line up with Justin Morneau went out.

Beyond the fact that this isn't true(Kubel, Cuddyer, Span), if it were true, why would it only be so if they win the division?

Michael Cuddyer is red hot since Morneau went down.

Sabathia got win #19 today against the Red Sox, might have clinched it for him. He is also only 6 K's away from 200 on the year. If he gets 1 more start and gets to 20 W's and and 200 K's he's a lock IMO, which is a real shame.

Greinke deserves it no doubt, but CC does pitch in the band box known as Yankee stadium.

Again, Greinke deserves it.

Yankee stadium is only a bandbox to right field and CC owns lefties.
