1.1 IP, 8 H, 7 ER - Today

1.0 IP, 6 H, 8 ER - Last Start

3.2 IP, 9 H, 8 ER - First Start

He's the first pitcher in over 50 years to give up at least 7 ER in his first three appearances to start the season. He may be the first ever, but can't go past '57.

That's not entirely accurate. Prior to this season he had quality secondary offerings, despite never throwing them. His command of them wasn't nearly as good as the command of his sinker, but the pitches had decent movement. Under no definition are they "bad".

I haven't seemed him pitch since the injury, I don't see why that would affect his stuff but who knows.

coming into today (small sample size obviously):

Season	Team	GB/FB	LD% GB% FB%
2005	Yankees	2.91	14.1 %	63.9 %	22.0 %
2006	Yankees	3.09	16.9 %	62.8 %	20.3 %
2007	Yankees	2.51	18.3 %	58.4 %	23.3 %
2008	Yankees	2.41	22.1 %	55.0 %	22.8 %
2009	Yankees	1.14	37.5 %	33.3 %	29.2 %

line drive rate and GB/FB rate have been going the wrong way since he started. obviously this year it's a complete disaster but the problems have been building.

wow early returns are the ball jumps out of new yankee stadium

its 20-2.

14 hrs in 2.5 games.

i believe there were 7 hrs in the 2 exhibition games vs the cubs, as well.

If those numbers aren't a fluke and the new stadium really is a launching pad, A-Rod is gonna rake in that ballpark

I think it's mostly launching to right, so Tex will especially rake.

The fans started chanting “We want Swisher!” for the second time in the series as Claggett struck out DeRosa for the final out. Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher pitched a scoreless inning during a blowout loss at Tampa Bay on Monday.

Wang and Claggett combined to throw 69 pitches during the half-inning, which lasted 37 minutes.

The “We want Swisher!” chant returned when Hafner hit his fourth homer of the season in the eighth

Like it's his fault that Wang sucks. And Joba sucks. And ARod got hurt. And the bullpen sucks. And...

I agree but that's not going to matter to the New York media and Steinbrenner.

One of the New York papers ran a headline that said "Money for nothing" after Sabathia got knocked around and Tex went hitless. Common sense doesn't always factor in when it comes to the Yankees.

I was bitter today because the Yankees-Indians game was played on Fox rather than the Cubs-Cardinals game. I live in Omaha-freaking-Nebraska. Nevertheless, Wang was brutal today, and I personally feel badly for him. My roommate is a big Yankee fan, and he is baffled. I heard on baseball tonight this evening that Wang could pitch 45 straight scoreless innings at this point and still have an ERA over 4.

Like NY is going to care who is really at fault? If you don't win as a manager in that town, you're done.

As is the case in every team in every sport.

that's insane. i was sure it was wrong, but i checked and it's not. he's currently given up 23 earned runs in 6 innings pitched for a 34.50 era. if he threw complete game shutouts in his next 5 starts, he'd have given up 23 runs in 51 innings pitches for a 4.06 era.

awesome.
