I'd like to see this be given a try a few more times. If Marmol has to come in and strike out a few to clean up someone's mess in the 7th or 8th, fine, let Gregg try (try) to close it out in the 9th. If Marmol hasn't been used yet, you unleash him in the 9th and let the slider fury rain down on the nonbelievers.

I agree, don't make him exclusively the closer, keep using him in the 6/7/8 to clean up messes and then let Gregg do it. If nobody struggles and we don't run into to any tight spots and Marmol is available in the 9th then use him. I would also probably be in favor of Gregg closing out most games in which we have a 3-4 run lead instead of using Marmol if both were available.

i'm gonna need some audio for this one.

I wish I could. MLB hasn't made a single archived game available, or available properly, so far this season. Games 1-3 aren't archived period and the ones that are archived have no play controls because of this terrible new player they instituted for Gameday Audio. As soon as they fix it (if they do at all) I'll fill in the back log, but until then, there's nothing I can do. Which sucks like hell.

I was in the car when it happened, was Soriano's run-scoring almost double play a blown call?

sure was.

Wasn't it none other than Angel Hernandez at 1st?

That makes way too much sense for most MLB managers.

Wait how is jumping up and bumping hips disrespectful... and don't a bunch of teams do this?

Don't the Brewers do this?

Didn't Weeks throw his helmet down in front of the umpire and Koyie Hill possibly having bounce up and hit one of them when they won yesterday?

well hill spiked the ball down, couldn't that have bounced up and hit someone too?

Got back from this game a little while ago... awesome.

Was Soriano out at first? And did Soriano throw out that runner at 3rd or was it a good call?

I also hope that this game doesn't convince Lou that Marmol needs to close.

Brewers fans are hoping it does.

Just saw the Soriano at 1st question answered. I think brewerfan.net said that there was another call at 1B that was blown in their favor that resulted in a run too, though.

Nevermind, saw that wasn't elcaballo but a random quote from brewerfan. The guy was told he was wrong though.

Yeah it def was not me.

There was nothing wrong with them celebrating how they did. Just like there was nothing wrong with the Brewers celebrating how they did. Geez, everyone needs to relax, its only week 1.

Hey this message board is an environment of welcoming and you should just get the hell out of here!

(paraphrased Michael Scott quote from the Office, I'm obviously just kidding with you.)
