New WGN Cubs Commercial

To get us ready for opening day, WGN made and is airing a new commercial. It showcases Len singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" with a rock band. Bob is playing the guitar with his hat on backwards. I used to think Len and Bob were cool. But I still love them.

Wow that was woeful. I don't care to see them in the studio acting like a rock band when Len just looks like a nerd who has no idea how to sing. All you need to do is show the most dramatic plays from the season before and everyone will love it. Show the Edmonds walkoff, Z no-hitter etc.

Yeah, that was kinda painful to watch, mainly because it didn't really get me hyped at all... but what other team has a pair of broadcasters who started a rock band together?

I assumed that that got filmed at the charity concert thing they're a part of every year (or at least the past two). Because If I remember correctly they always take the stage for a song at said concert.

1) It wasn't bad.

 

2) I had to watch a commercial just to get to the commercial. :(

 

3) I think there were more fan shots than game shots and the announcers are the face of the commercial. I hate the zeitgeist of Cubs baseball.

Sadly, I've come to hate when games are put on WGN now because DirecTV won't carry WGNHD and the SD signal is freaking horrible.

 

More Comcast games, please. At this point, I wouldn't care if WGN just crawled into a corner and died.

I would. Only because Columbia dorms - despite being in the heart of chicago - seem to be ignorant to the existence of CSN. Which is annoying. I vote all home games are on WGN and all Road games are on WGN/Ch.26/ESPN/Fox :-D
