vladdy is a year older than we thought

I wonder when the first time a team voids the contract will be. Obviously wouldn't happen in a Vlad type situation but if you signed a guy who said he was 18 and is really 21, find out about it a year later you should then be able to get out of the contract.

Probably not likely to happen with the ages in your example.

With it being a year later they could very well have seen what he has and not like it thus want out of the deal or if he gets an injury. A lot of things can happen.

He's in the last year of his contract and he's still one of the best hitters in the league, there should be no reason for the Angels to overreact if people honestly think they will. He's a guy who is one year older and will probably still put up an OPS+ of 130 or higher. All this means is it will make the Angels rethink their stance on extending him or resigning him next offseason after they get another year of Top 10 production out of an aging veteran. This isn't that big a deal

Word is that the Nationals might void the contract of 19 year old Esmailyn Gonzalez for, well, not being 19 years old...and not being Esmailyn Gonzalez.

The last person that crossed Esmailyn Gonzalez...was Esmailyn Gonzalez.

I said it obviously wouldn't happen in a Vlad sitaution if you are talking about what I wrote.

The reason it is worth talking about is he is a big time perhaps hall of famer (I would say yes) that has admitted to it. It's showing that just about every prospect from DR has lied about their age.

I was just making a general comment about the whole issue and how it's making headlines. There's bound to be someone who overreacts, when the point is there's no need.

And I agree, he's a first ballot hall of famer IMO. If he ends up being a permanent DH after this season and he can pull out 5 more productive years, there' a chance he could hit 3000 hits and 500HR before his career is over. Unfortunately I don't know how long his legs are gonna hold up thanks to playing in Montreal. Even if he falls short of both milestones, his batting average and consistent MVP consideration should get him in.
