The Bears are what we thought they were; they're what we thought they were. We played them in preaseason — who the hell takes a third game of the preseason like it's bullsh--, bullsh--!? We played them in the third game — everybody played three quarters — the Bears are who we thought they were! And that's why we took the damn field. Now if you want to crown them, then crown their ass! But they are who we thought they were, and we let 'em off the hook!

The Bears/Cards was great, but come on.....Dennis Green's rant after the game was pure genius....

the last page or so has definitely got me pumped for this season. my favorite games of the last few years would be the '06 season opening ass kicking of the packers in gb 26-0, the seattle regular season game on national tv, and of course, the nfc championship game vs. saints. i also agree with goony on the giants win. it was all the more satisfying watching the bears constantly mock the giants stupid basketball jumpshot celebration.

single game tickets go on-sale next saturday.

2006 was great and the last few minutes of the MNF Cardinals game is the only thing I've ever seen compare to the pandemonium of the back to back OT wins via Mike Brown pick 6s in 2001. There was also that brief beriod in 2000 when Jim Miller to MRob/Engram looked like the Greatest Show on Turf.

the NFC Championship Game was awesome for the simple fact that EVERY SINGLE PERSON in the media assumed the Saints would just roll over them and into the Super Bowl.

Absolutely. With the big lead late in the game, the last 5 minutes of that game, I was smoking a "victory cigar" and laughing at the pundits who thought the Saints were "destined" to go to the Super Bowl.

i can't remember who, but somebody on here had a picture of all the espn experts with a saints logo as their pick in the game in his signature for awhile. good stuff.

Wasn't that actually McNown in 2000? He had a few pretty good games.

He had a couple halfway decent starts, but was more often than not awful...

10/1/00 - 11-20, 203 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 123.5 rating

12/19/99 - 27-36, 301 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT, 113.3 rating

9/3/00 - 27-41, 290 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 102.7 rating

henry burris threw the worst pass in the history of the league in 2002 against the vikings i think it was.

that may have been it. he threw it 50 yards down the field and not one player, even a defender, within 15 yards of it.

I really hope the Cubs are playoff-bound by the time the Bears start. Always hard to stay interested in baseball when football season starts unless your team has a legit chance to make October.

Henry Burris was almost as bad as Johnathan Quinn. Notice I said almost.

Nevermind. Quinn's stats are a bit better than I thought they'd be. I seem to remember him being absolutely horrible in 2004.

I remember the Thanksgiving game that year between the Bears and Cowboys, it was seriously the most painful game to watch ever. I believe Quinn started for the Bears and Drew Henson started for Dallas, with Vinny Testaverde coming in later in the game.

For the game, Quinn was 10-21 for 86 yards, 0 TD, and 2 INTs, while Henson was 4-12 for 31 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT. The difference in the game (Dallas won 21-7) was the fact that Julius Jones had 150 yards rushing and 2 TDs, while his brother Thomas had only 46 yards and 0 TDs.

I stopped watching midway through the third when the game was still tied at 7, that's how bad it was.

That was an abysmal game to watch. Not to mention the fact that the Bears were in those hideous pumpkin-orange jerseys to boot.

The Burris Tampa game was one of the worst games I've ever watched as well. I think Tampa won the game 12-0 or 15-0 where all the points came on field goals, and you can't forget the three idiots on ESPN SNF calling the game. The glory days with Patrick, Maguire, and Theismann...yuck.

"I think Chicago did a great job, and Lovie Smith went out there and got Jay Cutler to lead this team, but one thing they don't have is they don't have the receiver group," Driver said. "They have the running back, they have the offensive line and they have a great defense.

"But you're going to have to need receivers to make plays down the field, and they don't have that right now."

Good lord this season needs to start.

That quote needs to be posted above the locker of each Bears WR.

I wish football players would stop talking out of place. He has a point to a degree, but that doesn't give Driver the right to talk about players on another team. The Bears WR are not his teammates, and he doesn't know them personally, so he really needs to save the critic for his team. In the words of a segment on "Mike & Mike", Driver should "Shut the hell up."
