I mentioned in an another topic that a possible candidate for LH RF could be Jason Kubel. MLBtrade rumors mentioned that the Twins are in the market for relief pitching (mentioning Delmon Young):

Delmon Young could be moved by Twins?

It remains unclear whether the Twins will be able to move outfielder Delmon Young, but they are intent on trading for bullpen help

With Wuertz, Hart, Wells, Ascaino, Cotts, Guzman, etc., all young and cheap, maybe something could be worked out to get Kubel or Young (who we could add to the deal for Peavy). Kubel could be a decent platoon player with DeRosa/Johnson.

Unfortunately, not one of these guys is any good.

I imagine that the Twins are being unreasonable and are asking for effective relief pitching.

Marmol for Young + ???

I don't want to trade Marmol, just throwing crap at the wall to spur conversation. However, everyone is tradeable for the right price, including Geo.

Minnesota had probably the worst middle relief and set up men to try to get the game to Nathan. It was brutal to watch, so some of our guys that we aren't thrilled with might look absolutely fantastic to them.

Kubel is definitely a player I'd be interested in.

I'm not sure if I'd be that excited in "Dumb Dumb" Delmon. I wouldn't trade Marmol for him. Kid has a ton of talent, but his head is on backwards. Also, he can be an absolutely brutal OF.

No to trading Marmol. The Twins are looking more for middle relief.

Unfortunately, it would seem to me that a better trade partner for the Twins is the Padres, themselves.

The Twins have been in dire need of a 3b in forever, and are about to offer a ridiculous contract to an ever aging Casey Blake. Meanwhile, the Padres have 2 3b's, one of which is not that far from becoming expensive.

A straight up trade of Delmon Young for Kevin Kouzmanoff would seem pretty fair, IMO, and it would make a lot of sense. Or toss in a prospect from one side or the other to make it fair.

I don't know what we could really give the Twins that could turn Peavy into a Cub.

Delmon + Petco= Lots o' triples (for the visiting team)

Who wouldn't trade Jason Kubel, a budding stud who 800 OPS'd last season as he tries to continue to stay healthy with outstanding saber tools for Donald Veal who thinks that walking hitters clogs bases.

Well, to be fair, that would have been a very very even trade...2 years ago.
