I haven't seen a thread about this but I did see on ESPN rumor central that the Brewers were listening to offers. Has anyone heard anything further on that? I'm assuming the Brewers wouldn't trade him to the Cubs, or any team in the central for that matter, but it's still nice to ponder. He'd sure make a nice lefty bat to replace Derek Lee with.

Lol, we have a better shot getting CC and Peavy than getting Fielder. The Brewers would NEVER trade anyone that good to the hated rivals. (unless they want us to win)

Yes and no. His bat is awesome, but his glove is the opposite of awesome. In fact Fielder is very much a DH right now playing first base, and thus---biased aside---an AL team such as the Angels should make a play for him.

so wait, we're their hated rivals now?

We've been their hated rivals for most of their NL existence.

one of those cases where they hate us more than we hate them. Since they havnt really had a natral rival since coming to the NL, they cose us, even though ours is still the Cards.

i remember watching an interview with Ryan Braun during the all star break. He said all the brewers and cubs players had a good time during the break and that they got along great. Obviously the cubs would have to blow the doors off the brewers for a trade cuz they dont wanna make a better team even better.

Doing anything to help a division rival doesnt make any sense at all. Maybe, at the trade deadline if team A is well out of it, they can send team B a player, but during the offseason, theres no way anything like that would happen.

As far as the fans go, this is absolutely true. They have all the anti-Cubs gear you can imagine up here. Brewer fans detest the Cubs. The big thing I hear nowadays is 'at least we won one game in the playoffs!'... give me a break.
