Seriously, STFU about 28 years being a long time.

you're missing the point... it's 25 years. try to pretend the bulls didn't win 25 championships in the 90s, that's what it's like. a lot of the people down there haven't been alive long enough to see a philly team win.

The Bulls, like totally, did not win 25 championships in the 90s.....It was more like 22 1/4 championship. Psah, get it straight.

Whats the over/under on:

Riots

Cars Flipped

Arrests

I do like a lot of the players on the Phillies, and what Manuel went through at the beginning of the Playoffs makes for a nice story. I hope the Rays are not more determined next season.

They need to stop referencing the 28 years then.

How many people actually like ALL the sports teams in one city? I know there are a few on this site, but with expansion, teams moving and families moving all more than ever I have a feeling it's fewer than it's ever been. That's my problem with the whole 25 years thing.

The Moyers could have fielded a team completely on their own.

I'm happiest for Jamie Moyer. He's almost 46, had never been in a WS despite being on some really good Mariners teams, and always seemed to be a likable guy. It took him 22 years in the majors, but he finally reached the top of the mountain. That has to be a tremendous feeling.

And for every proverbial Jamie Moyer, the guy in the twilight of his good career who just wants a ring to top it all off, there's always the scrub winning his first or second or third World Series ring by virtue of being with the right team in the right year. Countless greats of the game never so much as saw the postseason, and So Taguchi will now receive his second ring.

No justice in this world.

You're missing the point that FOX has 3 storylines to go with. You've got the cursed franchise finally breaking it, you've got the out of nowhere kids, and you've got the dynasty. Every team in the world series must fit into one of these 3 lazy storytellings.

From a Phillies fan on Deadspin:

Seriously, this is the greatest, bestest thing in the world. As a fan of your favorite team, I hope you do experience it. I never, EVER thought i would.

I hear people say stuff like this every year after the World Series. [expletive] [expletive]

Was debating going to Sports Authority and buying a Phillies cap and wearing it around Chicago today just so that people might stop me and congratulate me so I could feel what it's like to be a fan of a team that won the World Series, but I ultimately decided against it.
