Seriously, they sure dont look like a 1 year wonder to me. That pitching staff is insane, and David Price will just put them over the top. Would it have killed the 2006 Cubs to have sucked just a little bit more?

 

They wont be losing most of that young core for a few years yet, and in that time, they may very well dominate the AL. The Yankees and Red Sox can buy anything they want, but if these Rays players keep developing and getting better, there will be no stopping them.

 

I pick them to win the WS in 5 games at the most. They took down both pairs of Sox, each with better pitching staffs than the Phillies. If they do win it all, while it is embarassing for the Cubs, its also equally embarassing for every '60s expansion team who has yet to win a championship.

While the bitter Cubs fan in me would take it as another kick in the nuts, I would definitely enjoy seeing yet another truly solid case against the idea of veteran presence and leadership and knowing what it takes to win and all the other tired cliches which draw out the relevance of players and coaches longer than they deserve. Either that or we'll hear all about how Cliff Floyd's veteran presence was the X-factor to their season.

tampa does suck, but downtown st. pete is actually pretty cool...nothing remarkable...but much better than tampa...if we were allowed to have guns on our cars i would have already racked up about 5000 kills in tampa alone

I hate the Tampa area. Grew up there, and hate it. Not necessarily for the things it offers. It really offers a lot to do. But the people... my God the people I just wanna stab in the face with a rusty screwdriver. Some of the worst drivers on earth. Growing up my Dad would always curse and swear in the car and always talk about wanting to move and I would always scoff and be like "Whatever Dad, stop overreacting" and then when I got my license... well let's just say I completely knew what he was talking about. Such a frustrating area to drive in.

 

Ybor city is a cool place to party, but the people there are douche bags. If you want to go look at a bunch of roided up freaks with unbuttoned shirts and enough hair gel to make a chemical weapon, Ybor is the place to be
