Really right now UF is probably better than PSU and Bama, but for now I'll let the unbeaten threesome at the top stay there.

Another week, win or loss, that PSU can't overtake Alabama and Texas..........Should be a fun month or so of college football.

that's nice and all, but alabama is still the number 2 team in the sec.

That's debateable and not something I am willing to debate right now. Suffice to say, Alabama can and could be anytime in the SEC even Florida.

On the contrary, word on the street is that they cease to exist between 1:26 AM and 2:07 AM on Tuesdays.

Pat Devlin came off the bench for injured starting quarterback Daryll Clark in the fourth quarter and leading two fourth-quarter scoring drives, sneaking in for the go-ahead touchdown to give No. 3 Penn State a 13-6 victory over No. 10 Ohio State on Saturday night.

am i missing something? everyone is giving devlin credit for leading a comeback; he threw one pass that resulted in a pass interference call, ran three QB sneaks (one for a TD), and then turned around and handed the ball off a bunch of times.

i guess they want to give credit to someone on the winning team, but probably the guy who should lead the story is mark rubin, who knocked the ball out when pryor was coming around the right side. ohio st had all the momentum after we missed a field goal, they had rushed for one first down and looked like they were headed for another. that totally turned the game around and gave the offense a short field to work with.

also, how did everyone miss what happened to clark? he got up slowly (though there was a pig pile, that's probably why they figured he got up slowly) and then one of the offensive lineman was holding up two fingers in front of clark's face.

Agree on both points. Clark got his bell rung and Devlin handed off while the ground game won it...

Don't do the top 3 a favour, if you HONESTLY think Florida is better the one, two, or all three teams then by all means put Florida in front of them regardless of record.

Switch USC's and Texas Tech's spots and I'll agree with you.

Also, Arizona just tied it up with USC 10-10 in the 3rd.

Iowa State has the worst defense in the Big12, and that's saying something. Probably looking at 0-8 unless they pull off a major upset. Countdown to basketball season has begun, but it probably won't be much better.

I know I'm a tad late to the party but....

GO PENN STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can still hear non-stop cheering and every person driving through State College is honking their horn repeatedly. It's mass chaos, and I like it.

I was living in State College when PSU won the NC in 1986....now THAT was madness. Luckily my dad was awesome and took the 11 year old me downtown where people were climbing the lamp posts at College and Allen St.

Actually no their not. Florida has beaten only one legit quality team all yr and that is LSU .v. Alabama "supposedly" only quality win with GA. UF beat a Kentucky team who lost several key members of their team (if people are going to say beating Clemson isn't impressive, then beating Kentucky without their best players isn't impressive. Both teams have impressive wins over Tennessee, and Arkansas. Both teams have impressive wins over NOW mediocre teams; Clemson .v. Miami. Both have routine wins over crappy/inferior teams; Hawai'i .v. Western Kentucky. The difference between Alabama and Florida is that Alabama beat Ole Miss. I don't look at scores as indication to the quality of the team. At worst I would put Florida as 1B to Alabama's 1A until the situation changes. Face with a similar schedule Alabama has held strong, and Florida had one sign of weakness. So i SUSPECT this debate will be answer in Atlanta in December. And I love Alabama's history against Florida in SECCG.

That's just the game Mizzou needed tonight. Beat the piss out of a bad team, and the D even got a shut out. Keep it going next weekend at Baylor.

P.S. Chase Coffman is god.

Heh, I think he's the 3rd best TE in the Big XII behind Pettigrew and Gresham.

Pettigrew: 27 rec. 298 yards 0 TDs (6 games)

Gresham: 29 rec. 467 yards 7 TDs (8 games)

Coffman: 63 rec. 749 yards 5 TDs (8 games)

*yawn*

pwned

Haha. I could actually believe that Greshman is just as good, but I don't understand the Pettigrew love. It's been going on for two years. Last year Pettigrew got First Team All-Big 12 (35 catches, 540 yards, 4 TDs) over Martin Rucker (84 catches, 834 yards, 8 TDs). I feel that I'm missing something on Pettigrew.

Pettigrew and Gresham are almost the same player. I think Pettigrew is a better blocker, but Gresham is faster and does a lot more after the catch.

Question: Is beating Ole Miss 24-20 at home different than losing to Ole Miss at home 31-30 because of a missed XPT?

If you answer anything other than "No" you're [expletive]. Again, Bama isn't better than Florida because Florida missed that extra point.

In those cases? The answer is no. In the standings yes, in actually telling us how good teams are? absolutely not. again, i dont see how this so hard for you guys to understand. it's not a difficult concept. it's a concept that you guys *gasp* believe in baseball but dont believe in football because the season is shorter magnifying individual wins and losses (which is incredibly stupid).

Alabama hasn't reach the potential of what they could do, whereas Florida IMO has reached their peak. There's a reason why Alabama is 8-0 and Florida is 7-1. Wins is important. And I would put Alabama up against Florida and whup them. This isn't a Mike Shula lead Bama team, this is a Nick Saban lead team, and the stats don't always tell the whole story. I know what I see and what I see is when this Bama gets punch in the mouth, they punch back.

Simple fact: if the season ended today (I know it doesn't, and chances are we'll going to see which team is better in December) Alabama would be playing for the National Championship---and have a great chance to win it---and Florida would be playing in a BCS bowl. And there is no stat that counters that. I'm not saying Florida couldn't beat Alabama, I'm saying Florida isn't the UNQUESTIONED best team in the SEC. And the scary thing is, this Bama is getting better every game. Florida is a great team, but in my eyes they've peaked.

1. yes, florida has a loss on their schedule and alabama doesn't.

2. plus, believe it or not, the kicking game is part of football, so if you can't make extra points, that actually counts!!!

3. bama was beating ole miss the whole game; florida was trailing two different times in the fourth quarter.

4. even if florida makes the XP, the game is tied, and ole miss has a chance to win it in regulation or in overtime. alabama needed to give up 45 more yards to lose the game.

5. i guess that is my "[expletive]" way of answering something other than "no"

You know what when Alabama whups Florida in Atlanta in about month and change, you will see why I like Alabama's better then Florida. You can write this down now......If Alabama and Florida meet in the SECCG Alabama will beat Florida by 3 TD's. The only team in the SEC East I do not want to face in the SECCG is Georgia, and next week GA is going to show why Florida is abit overrated.
