Good. My main concern is just getting some tickets so I can upgrade in later years, but I don't want to get the shaft with garbage seats in the meantime.

Have you considered the bleacher partials. I confirmed that I can upgrade to full season packages in the bowl or bleachers in future seasons, and it limits your liability in the meantime.

Yeah, the bleachers are my backup, but I'd really prefer not to. It's fun 2-3 times a season, but after that I just start getting annoyed about how sunburned I'm getting and how little of the game I can watch.

Well, I snagged a couple in the upper deck in section 406.

Don't we have a poster named section406 or something like that? You can hang out with him all season.

I have tried to capture decent shots of the seat availability as of this afternoon. I am sure that seats are available in Section 402, but for some reason the camera won't pan over that far.

I wonder if they will keep going through the waiting list until most/all of these seats are sold, or will they just sell them as single-game tickets until this time next year? They have probably reached a point of diminishing returns where it doesn't make sense to continue burning through the waiting list.

My seats are like right above the left end of the red sign. I haven't been to a game since Opening Day of 2010, but I'm getting more and more excited looking at the pics I took from the seats. I better be getting in on the ground floor of something amazing, Theo.

Niiiiice.

Thanks. Congrats on yours too.

Best believe we are getting in on the ground floor of something amazing.

Anybody else pick anything up this weekend? UM?

I'm incredibly jealous, and pretty pissed at myself.

Did you end up passing altogether?

Those are good seats. Upper Deck box are mine and my wife's preferred seats, so I was very torn when I decided to go with some nice Terrace Box seats instead. My only hesitation on the Upper Deck was that they tend not to resell as well because a lot of people unknowingly assume that lower level is always better. Then again, we probably can't expect decent resale on anything for at least another year or two.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about resale; I'm pretty confident the team is going to be good enough that that won't be too much of a problem within a couple of years. And you're right, when I went I was definitely thinking the upper deck would be settling, but I really like what I ended up with. That said, I bought like two dozen tickets from a friend's season ticket package back in 2008 and they were lower level, directly back from the Cubs' dugout and just under where the upper deck begins. Amazing view, never in the sun, right in front of one of the walkways and literally next to a tunnel and there was a bathroom right at the end of it; they were perfect.

I got a nights and weekend bleacher package last week.

Doesn't that keep you in the mix? I believe you'll get the option to upgrade each year.

It does. I got the same. If the unthinkable happens and the Cubs make the playoffs this season, we will get the option to buy a pair of tickets to 2 games per round (we bought 2 season tickets). But I did clarify with the organization that at any point in the future I can upgrade to a full season.

First couple rows in the UD and the first section behind the Cubs pen are my favorite of the non-1% tix.

Nice. Doesn't seem like a bad option at all given the fact that this year isn't likely to be all that exciting anyway.

When I was there, the guy who spoke to us before letting us out into the grandstands did mention that in 08, they were able to offer full playoff tickets to all holders, even partial (I think).

I was debating going that route and saving some money this year, but with my skin seemingly made to dwell forever in a dark, dank bog I just couldn't see myself going to more than 3-4 games before getting fed up with frying each time.
