I absolutely cannot afford any kind of season tickets. I'm hoping by the time 15K more people pass I'll at least be able to front the money before selling off to family and friends. The nights-and-weekends plan would be pretty terrific.

I don't think they offer this anymore unless it's grandfathered in.

Actually, they do and have expanded it to more seating locations this season.

Got the email to go on Saturday, December 8th. Probably going to pass as I am already a 1/4 holder in season tickets with friends. Was hoping I'd get the call in about 5 years to get my own seats for my family. Oh well.

Also, for clarification on the above discussion, the Combo plan is only available for the Budweiser Bleachers.

The combo plan is being extended to other areas besides the bleachers this season.

My appointment was at 11:30 this morning. I ended up with 2 combo plan seats in 229 Row 12 right in the middle of the section. NO POLE ISSUES AT ALL! The seats go up in price significantly five rows in front of me. I think I'm close enough that I will only lose the occasional high popup on the infield. I was pretty excited with the choices that were available for being that low in the pecking order. There were very few people looking for seats and it seemed like 25-35 year olds made up most of them. Today was the last day and they had groups every half hour until 3:30.

There were still seats available in almost all the terrace reserved IF and OF. They were scattered, but a decent selection. There were very nice seats in the upper deck IF reserved and many available in the UD Box IF and OF. Pickings were very slim/nonexistent in the lower level box seats. Those seats will always be out of my price range though. For me, I got the exact seats I wanted. Extremely happy and surprised. Our seats are between the pitchers mound and 1B and the Cubs dugout is very visible.

We passed up seats in row 15 aisle 220. You could still see all the scoreboard pretty well and the pole blocked portions of fair and foul territory in RF. They were pretty awesome, but Wrigley's funnel shape made them very far from the playing surface in comparison to the ones we got.

I don't think you'll have any difficulty getting the bleacher combo. If that's what you want you don't even have to go to the stadium. At least I didn't last year when I got the bleacher combo.

I asked them as many questions as I could think of Saturday and they told me something I wish they had told me last year when I first got my seats. If you renew combo plans you can never increase the number of seats you hold unless you go to a full season plan. Also, they are phasing out combo plans in the "bowl" (i.e. everything but the bleachers). They don't have a timeline on this, but it sounds to me like when the team is competing they will no longer offer the combo plans in the bowl UNLESS you are renewing a combo plan in the bowl. If you guys want to get in on good seats on the combo plan I think you should try everything you can to do so.

Here's what I got:

Very nice. As far as those poles go, that's about best case in those sections.

Did they give any mention as to what it is they're doing under that tent setup in the RF bleachers? It looks a lot like what they put up to get the video board/patio work done, but I can't imagine that they'd be doing anything that extensive there.

No. They didn't say. The first couple of people I asked didn't know so I didn't ask anyone else.

An idea on others that were available:

Well, my fears have been realized. Got a postcard today saying my number has been called. Was really hoping it'd be at least another year or two before this day came. Can't afford it now without finding others to go in with me. Plus living in Texas will mean that I'll probably be looking to sell 75+ games.

I'm curious how many people will be getting those calls. Like I said, there weren't very many people there at all. When everybody's numbers get updated I want to see how far everyone has moved.

Thanks for the info in this thread.

I missed the seat day (slept really late, whoops) and was able to call this morning and get moved from Section 411, Row 5 to Section 416, Row 4.

Small upgrade, but I'll take it.

I was number 920 in line this year (a year after moving from Lincoln Park to Scottsdale, Arizona). I've been hoping that tickets were unavailable at my appointment time so I could retain my place in line. It sounds like I'll be receiving an update soon enough evicting me from the wait list.

I kind of like the upper deck seats on the infield, as long as they are close to the front, like this picture.

Yea, those are some of my favorites. A pretty good value, IMO.

Went on Thursday morning. Upgraded my seats from 237 row 10 to 224 row 12. Little more in price but definitely worth it. Great view, no pole obstruction. Can see electronic scoreboard and right into the cubs dugout. Will be 3rd years having seats, cant believe have moved to down here so soon. Not sure I will move again to be honest as am pretty tapped out on price and not many seats in rows 7-10 are available in this price tier.

For a few years I was getting in on a family member's season ticket seats (about 15-20 games a season). It was 4 seats in a row of, I think, 6, and was on the first level directly behind the Cubs dugout just under where the upper deck started. They were two rows back from the main walkway and a tunnel was just to the left with a bathroom right on the other side. Perfect seats.

Just got an email that I've been selected. Dammit. Was hoping it'd be a few years. Hate the idea of giving up my spot and having to go to the end of the waiting list too.

How long were you on the list?

*edit*

9 years I'm pretty sure? I think I signed up sometime in 03. Might've been January 03

Ah, yeah that'd suck to have to wait another 9 years. But hey, they might possibly be good by then. I don't wanna commit to anything though.

Hmmm, I was at 19000ish, I think.

ETA: And there's the email.
