Hi,

Thanks for the tip on the email. I started watching the junk mail figuring that is where it would appear. Sure enough, today I got the email and within an hour we had two lower level seats in the grandstand. Not great seats but doable and we can likely move up from this point on.

Really appreicated the heads up on the email or I might have tossed it.....

Congrats! have fun with them.

Thank you,

FYI, anybody who is actually interested in owning some season tickets this year, I have four seats (Night and Weekends) in the upper deck right even with where foulball guy got famous and am looking for some folks to share them with. I'm not looking to sell them off one game at a time but rather in 1/4 shares ($2800) or 1/8 shares ($1400). Oh, it would include any playoff tickets too (those cost more though).

PM me if you are interested.

I signed up fall of 2006, I can't find my login number to check my spot and I have emailed them twice to get the number and I haven't gotten any emails back.

28744. I'm 99% certain that I haven't moved since I signed up on 1/7/07. I hope my great great great great grandkids enjoy them.

28637. I've moved up 107 spots in 15.5 months. Hilarious.

Oddly enough, your best hope is for the Cubs to suck for a long time and people to give them up. Otherwise, you (and me, and pretty much everyone below us on the waiting list) are screwed.

Like 5412 I got the "call" this past week in the form of an e-mail from one of the team's sales coordinators. Like some have suggested, they are expensive. I went with what I could afford, hoping I can go to the games I can go to, sell the rest on stubhub or ebay and make some money back, and enjoy the playoff rights (hopefully this year). We'll see.

I put myself on the list about 8 or 9 years ago so it moves relatively quickly. Granted, that was before the 2003 season.

Two years ago, I was number 1190 or so. I have to believe that they contact many more people than they actually have tickets available. People die, change contact info and don't notify the team, move way out of the area, or just plain can't afford them. Have faith!

HI,

I'm curious, what section are your tickets?

My state is gettng like $85 million for light rail between Madison and Milwaukee, and there will be a Milwaukee-to-Chicago route. I'm really pumped for it, because then I can just drive across town and take the train to Chicago a few times a year to go to Wrigley.

I might have my wife talked into a 9-game ticket package.

There was a list 8 or 9 years ago? I walked in off the street when I picked out my seats in 2000. I thought the list didn't happen until after 2003.

Anyway, congrats -- and ha ha to the rest of you suckers.

Well, I got an email about 10-minutes ago that I have been selected. Either they have opened up a ton of seats or a bunch of people stopped buying this year. Last year at this time, I was 2700 or something like that.

Unfortunately for me, I'm going to have to decline. Since 2003 when I signed up, I've moved an average of 300 spots per year. I was hoping to get called in about 15 years when I would be close to retirement. I only make one trip to Chicago at this time, so the cost is too great for me to do it now.

D'oh. That sucks, Vance. Bad timing.

Yeah, it the short term though, I'm really not missing out. I'm still able to get decent seats to games when I come to Chicago. It does suck in regards to not having playoff options and such, however.

If I didn't think it would be too big of a hassle to unload tickets to all those other games, I would go ahead and get them. But right now, it isn't right for me.

Do you stay at the head of the line until you are ready, or is there a penalty for turning down the opportunity?

Frankly, I don't know. But, I doubt I could keep turning them down and stay there for as long as I would need to. I haven't contacted the person yet. I've just read the email.

This was it.

Dear Waiting List Member,

I am happy to inform you that the Chicago Cubs have Season Ticket availability for the 2010 season. By virtue of your spot on our Season Ticket Waiting List, we are ready to offer you a location for the upcoming season. We have limited seating inventory as well as limited offerings in the Bud Light Bleacher area.

Please contact me as soon as possible if you are interested. You may reply to me via email or contact me directly at the number listed below. Please note that receipt of this e-mail does not guarantee a location as tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis.

The Chicago Cubs thank you once again for your interest in becoming a Season Ticket Holder.

Hi,

I got the call this year. Basically it is take it or leave it.......and if you choose the latter you go to the end of the line.

I'm telling you guys, I have tickets available right now. 1/4 share of 4 seats of a Nights and Weekends package still available. $2800. Upper deck Sec 404, fourth row, left field. You buy the quarter share and you get access to 1/4 of the playoff tix too (they cost extra of course). The guys I have the tickets with (they are in my name) do a ticket draft and a 1/4 share gets you about 54 tickets spread over about 15 games (more or less depending on how many games you take 4 tix and how many you take 2). If you want to know about the location, ask Yeti or Fred Hornkohl. Both have been a part of the group. I make no money at this and you can sell the tickets wherever you want. Stub-hub has an arrangement with the Cubs.

If you want tix and don't want to wait for your number to come up. Let me know! Get season tickets right now!

sounds like you can maybe take your time to respond, then be noncommital for a while as you assess your preferred seats, and then hope they run out of those limited options.

That's kind of what I'm doing. I sent an email back asking for information about location and pricing. I'm waiting for a response to that one.

I read yesterday, maybe on BCB, that they were thinking of adding 500 suites.

500 suites would probably require a bigger building.

You win this round.

Has anyone else experienced a significant move-up on the list like Vance did (~2500 places). I feel like I've been in the 13-14k range for a couple years now.

To those just selected - what sections are available for new season ticket holders?
