Who would you rather have? Dempster and Lowe or Sabathia for the same amount of money? I think I would rather have Sabathia. We don't need 5 top starters, we were good with 4.

One would hope that Dempster would follow Wood's lead and give the Cubs the hometown discount. Especially after taking the risk on putting him back in the starting rotation after he was a average arm in relief.

If Burnett opts out , I expect the Blue Jays to make a run at Dempster.

I would say I highly doubt that AJ is a realistic possibility. I think we can get dempster for 3 yr/ 9 or 10 mill per. I think that would be a fair market for him. I would take AJ over him but I bet he is closer to 5 year- 60 million. He has injury problems but he can get alot of K's.

I would re-sign Demp without a doubt. I think it would be stupid to let him go based on the prediction that he potentially possibly maybe won't be as good as in 2008. Give the guy a chance to stop dominating before you make that call. From watching nearly all of his starts this season, I believe Dempster is extremely talented and he knows how to pitch.

The problem with giving the guy a chance to stop dominating before you make that call, is you could be on the hook for a hell of a lot of money for quit a long time.
