Why did OSU punt there instead of running around and taking the safety? Why didn't Maclin just dive ahead and give them a chance at the hail mary from the 45?

Yeah, that should have been incomplete but I'm guessing they didn't have enough evidence to overturn.

yeah you could see that the ball probably hit the ground but not for certain, so the call on the field had to stand.

oklahoma st is gonna be top 10, we need them to lose a big game so mike gundy melts down in a press conference.

too close to their own endzone to burn 10 seconds

So....

1. Alabama

2. Texas

3. Penn State

4. Oklahoma

5. Florida

??????

1 and 2 are easy, in whatever order you want to put them. psu will be number 3. i'd put ou at 4 because they lost to a #1 team. florida lost to an average ole miss team at home; i'd put texas tech at #5, lousy performance today notwithstanding.

I'm honestly really shocked Mizzou lost. I thought they'd steamroller everyone until Oklahoma in any case. Credit to OSU, I didn't realize how good they are.

UT and Bama were tough. OU, Penn State and USC were tough to choose between. UF and Mizzou were tough to choose between.

Meph, I assume that's your personal top 25, right?

can't be; florida isn't #2 or #1a

I asked because there's little chance TT gets dropped 4 spots after winning

Posted (edited)
Florida ran the ball for 265 yards on LSU. LSU gave up 276 rushing yards their first four games. Jeff Demps has 17 carries the last two games, 234 yards. He has 23 carries on the season for 309 yards. Rainey has 17 carries the last two games, 168 yards. That's 402 yards on 34 carries. That's 12 ypc. Edited by Mephistopheles

interesting that you cling to a scoring system that, while probably statistically most complex, has little to no bearing on the actual rankings or BCS results.

interesting that I also cling to the scoring system that, while not politically correct, has the most predicative power. which is what rankings should be...you rank the best teams top to bottom.
