My cousin married a guy who worked his way through college by working at Wrigley Field. Apparently he became pretty good friends with a guy who works in the Cubs media dept. For the influx of photographers during the playoffs they need people to assist in the camera well just outside the dugout for all the Cubs home games. Knowing how much it would mean to me, my cousin thought of me and has suggested me for the job. I can't wait to hear back, although I'm worried because of exams I can't make games 1 or 2 of both the NLDS and the NLCS. I go to school in Columbia, MO.

That would be pretty awesome...and you'd be ridiculously close. Hopefully you get to do it.

Speaking of...Roast, are you going to be able to be at the games?

I'm really hoping to be able to. I would get to go to all 3 WS games, and the tentative Games 6 and 7 of the NLCS, not to mention a potential Game 5 of the NLDS (which I already have tix too). Obviously, these would all be huge, decisive games.

Dude, as a recent Mizzou grad, for the love of god make sure you go to the games. I can't tell you how many exams I missed over my 5 years (yeah I took a victory lap) in Columbia. Just go to the Health Center, and tell them you're sick.

With what? A cold, the flu, Genital Herpes. It doesn't matter. Just get the documentation showing you were there when you check out.

Send your teacher an email the morning of the exam and say how sick you are and blah blah blah. Most of the time, they will say "no problem" and let you reschedule it in a few days when you feel better. Worst response I ever got was "I hope you're feeling better. Can you please bring the documentation from the health center just as a matter of formality when you're feeling better?"

I probably did this around ten times with no problem at all.

Please man, for the love of god, don't miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity. There will always be another Econ exam for you to take. Bumping elbows with Aramis and D. Lee in the playoffs most likely will not happen again.

I've honestly thought about something of that nature. It's funny you mention bumping elbows because supposedly we go to the clubhouse after the games. If I can be in there for a WS celebration, I just might die...

If it's a day game i probably wont be able to make game 1. But regardless of what time they are, i'll make at least game 2.

Is there a "no cheering in the camera well" rule?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. The plusses and minuses. I mean, if I'm not going to be able to enjoy a lot of the games, then I'd just assume watch them on TV.

There are some huge positives (possibly being in the clubhouse for a WS celebration, seeing the action from field-level, actually being on the field during bp, etc.)

But there are some huge negatives (how much will I miss, will I not be able to cheer, am I even going to have a good vantage point in the camera well, can I afford three trips to Chicago in such a short span, etc.)

EDIT: I also wouldn't like the possibility of having to help get photos of the visitors locker room if they just won the WS. That would be horrible.

Maybe I could potentially be the first case of bird flu in humans...
