PSU's offense. Really its like wtf. They are so dynamic with the Mrobs and D Clark(its not always a shotgun spread) but beyond vanilla with the drop back qbs. They can adapt to the talent so quickly, but yet with the 'drop back system qb' they can suck so hard.

the big thing is the o-line... in 2005 they had a good veteran o-line and this year they do too. in 2006 the o-line was young and lousy; last year they were better but not great. they were also bad during the early '90s. also, i dunno if i'd consider the offense dynamic in 2005. a lot of the points they scored were against bad teams; against the good opponents (ohio st, michigan, florida st) they struggled offensively and relied more on their defense.

we'll find out how good the offense is when they face good defenses like ohio st, michigan and wisconsin.

Haha....ABC already had a W by the Syracuse game on PSU's schedule.

that's because we already beat syracuse.

Oh...they had it out of line then. All the other games they had played were on the left. It was a poor graphic.

my teams generally lose these games, so i should be used to it.

they didn't last year against us, or against ohio st.

Last year was one of those years though. Illinois never has the same success the year after a great year. To be honest, I was really impressed that we hung in there for 3 1/2 quarters against you guys. I was expecting to lose this game by three touchdowns (which we might anyway), but it was closer than the final score will indicate.

If we're going to want to do anything this year, the defense is going to have to improve, and fast. Vontae's a great corner but he'll struggle a lot if the front seven can't get pressure on the quarterback. Our front seven really needs to wake up if we're going to want to contend for a good bowl bid this year.

I was confused by it at first as well, but the teams on the left were home games for PSU and the ones on the right were road games.

PSU is the team to beat in the B10. No doubt. Its never been a question of their D.

Undefeated??? 20% might not be pie in the sky, they can beat OSU, Wisky and etc.

As lone as Penn State doesn't score again I'll be sitting pretty.

:yahoo: PSU failed to cover by .5

I considered this a good test for the PSU defense, as OSU is going to run a very similar offense. After those first couple of scoring drives, the PSU linebackers adjusted well to all the option plays out of the shotgun. Should be interesting to see how Pryor runs that offense compared to Juice.

and do we see three Big XII teams in the Top 5 this week? I can see:

1. OU

2. Mizzou

3. Bama

4. LSU

5. Texas

Maybe not 'dynamic' but more versatile and less predictable?? UM's defense is solid but the O could destroy the game negatively against PSU, and OSU's & Wisky's offense cant match what ive seen so far far PSU's team. So far they are the front runners if they dont shoot themselves in the foot with turnovers and big plays.

I doubt it will be that order.

what would be yours? I can easily see Bama jumping some teams with their win on the road (compared to LSU's "meh" win against Miss St. at home). The question is whether they'll move MIzzou up on a bye week.

i worry about their defensive line being thin with all the suspensions and guys getting kicked off the team. i still think they may wear down against run-heavy teams like ohio st and wisconsin (the two toughest games left).

Dude cmon. Dont be humble. The defense and coaching of Penn State is beyond rock solid. No one in the B10 is beyond a formidable oppenent to them. Nobody scares them in the B10. The only offensive teams could be Mizzou and OU.

two got reinstated today and should stay on the team as long as the university police don't find evidence to press charges. The team seems to have a ton of depth everywhere, which is a nice luxury.

yeah they need evans and koroma, for sure. they're weak in the middle; baker was a starter and taylor was a good run-stopper who got regular playing time. i really wish those guys weren't complete morons and sean lee hadn't blown out his knee; i'd be thinking undefeated season. i still don't think we can win in the shoe.

Why? OSU doesnt do anything but get some big plays on offense with Wells and Pryor. They dont march up and down the field on people at will. Really, what ive seen so far i think PSU is much the better team offensively. Just dont do a Michigan and fumble the ball all over the place.
