The most suprising stat for me is that Soriano has 23 walks and the TheRiot leads w/ 26. Not a lot of ab's but Reed, Fontenot and Ronny are better than I expected. I knew Lee was struggling but not this much. Dero is still keeping his great year going. I wish I could say I was suprised at how bad Fukudome is doing but I'm not.

I know there are sample size issues, but Lee has a lower OPS than both Ronny Cedeno and Henry Blanco. Let that sink in. Our number three hitter has a lower OPS than our 25th man and our backup catcher. And yet we're still in 1st place. Incredible.

Close race between Zambrano and Lee to see who hits more 2nd half HR's...

Because batting order doesn't matter.

Especially when you've got a lineup full of productive hitters.

So you're telling me Ronny in fact isn't awful, but instead a damn good backup SS?

Guffaw.

It might be unpopular around here, at this point, but I still believe Ronny would develop into an average-above average starting SS, given the opportunity. However, with Theriot getting on-base at a high-rate, I won't complain.

However, if Theriot starts to slump next year, I would not hesitate giving Cedeno regular playing time.

I don't want to keep jumping on a dead horse here but I am shocked to see Lee's slugging in the .360's

Honestly dude? Where did that power go? He was showing it all in April and it never stayed with him.

At the beginning of the season it would have surprised everyone if it was said that Fukudome would have by far the lowest 2nd half OBP of our regulars.

True. The bigger issue is that our first baseman has a .703 OPS. The Cubs have been winning despite Lee for quite some time.
