As far as the negative versus positive posting argument goes, I generally expect to see both kinds of posts in these game threads and most of the negative stuff isn't quite so bad....and you get a lot of quality sarcasm mixed in there too.

 

But....there are certain posters on these boards that just seem to absolutely revel in the negativity and never seem to post at all unless things are going bad....then they predict bad outcomes and when the bad outcomes come true, they almost seem giddy that it happened. Those are the people who make the game threads not so enjoyable. And it's these people that cause me to just leave the game threads alone when they are present because it's just not worth it.

 

Having said that....I don't see any of those people here so far so I don't want anyone in this thread thinking that I am taking subtle shots at them. I'm not.

 

Now back to baseball. :clapping:

 

I agree, i hate the ballgame crap when a team gets one run, however consider me concearned. We're not hitting,pitching or fielding. Everything is magnified cos it's all happening at once but we need to have a good ballgame where we club the living daylights out of someone. It will prob happen tomorrow as i can't watch the game!!

Seeing as no one is supposed to say anything bad or get down on the team cos this is just a 'slump' when are people actually going to get a little tetchy? when the phillies are 6 behind? 5 ? 4? or when we're praying for the phils and mets to knock each other out the wildcard??

Given those numbers, I cannot claim to be all that concerned....YET. I mean, I just don't expect this terrible play to continue. It's our worst losing streak of the year but it comes at a time when the Cubs have a pretty decent cushion to work with and the fact the Brewers have went in the tank at the same time, that softens the blow.

 

I simply have no doubts they will pull out of this and get back to winning at a reasonable clip. Merely playing .500 baseball in these last 22 games would make it awfully tough for Milwaukee to catch us, let alone Philly too.

 

But having said all that.....if we don't win 2 out of 3 in Cincy then I'll puke. :x
