Ok I know im not crazy.

Dustin Pedroia was batting clean up the last couple days against the White Sox, well he was int. walked in the 2nd game of the series and the crowd started chanting.. "MVP" "MVP" "MVP"

And then I saw this..

Am I the only one that thinks Pedroia getting the MVP would be the worse MVP voting in the history of baseball?

Compared to other guys out there in the AL, he's not that far off.

I surely wouldn't take him over Hamilton, Quentin, A-Rod, and Youkilis though.

i.e. he's not even the leader on his own team

he's the leader on his own team in VORP, and 6th in the AL. the 5 guys ahead of him aren't going to the playoffs. so yeah, he hasn't been the best player but if you're voting for guys who play for playoff teams or contenders, he's as good a choice as anyone.

Milton Bradley: .448/.586/1.034

He loses points for being a DH mostly though.

ARod is putting up a rather pedestrian .394/.580/.974 while turning in arguably his best defensive performance ever at 3B.

It's always tough to overlook a catcher putting up Mauer's numbers. Aubrey Huff is outhitting him by a good margin as well.

Pedroia should finish top 10 in the voting, but shouldn't be any higher than maybe #5 at most. I'd at least have him behind the above mentioned guys.

last 65 games fwiw

.391 avg .609 slg, 25 doubles 67 runs and 10 sb to boot

that's a torrid 2/5 season stretch that will probably color some writers opinions, given its timing
