So it seemed to me that Lilly had been doing well lately getting his ERA down to low 4's this season after a horrid start. I also was curious because I wondered if he is pitching well enough to be dependable down the stretch and possibly the playoffs. I was hoping for something like a 3.9 ERA in the last month or two. Well since the calendar turned to June Lilly has a 3.38 ERA. He has pitched 96 innings in 15 starts (approx. 6 1/2 innings a start) is 7-2 (tonights start pending) and has 87 strikeouts. Yeah I think he is going to be dependable and a 4 man rotation for playoffs with Z, Harden, Demp, and Lilly is just ludicrous. Roll Out!

I realize most of us has known Lilly has been doing well lately I just didn't know he was doing that well.

If those doubles came to the 2nd batter in the inning, as opposed to the leaoff man both times, the Cubs win 1-0. That's a pretty crappy loss to take. When both hits you give up score without the benefit of another hit.

It seems haes been at his best since becoming the official #4. I never really bought him as a #2, and he was a solid #3, but as #4, hes the best the NL has.

That really has nothing to do with it. I think he finally adjusted to his loss of velocity and now is back on track.

I agree. I think it doesn't matter to him if he is the '#1' or the '#5'

He just goes out there to get a W for his team.

I highly doubt anyone went up to him after the Harden trade and saidyou are now officially #4.

He was left off of the stand and was forced to listen to the Canadian and Venezuelan National Anthems and had the same look on his face as Nastia Lueken after losing beam to little Shawn Johnson.

Not as big as the one when Sean Marshall takes Jason Marquis rotation spot.
