Brian Giles is available through a waiver deal. If I'm Hendry, I make a deal for him. Fukudome is lost.

Brian Giles is not eligible to be traded. He did not clear waivers.

And even if he were, he killed the Boston trade. Why would he come to Chicago?

moot point, but Boston was one of the 8 clubs in his limited NTC. no mention of the Cubs so he really couldn't have said anything but goodbye

Cox is such a jagbag. I really hate him.

If he got tossed for arguing the timing of Joe West ordering the lights turned on, it sounds like he has a legitimate case here. From the way it was described on the radio, it sounds like the pitcher had just finished up his warm-up tosses and was ready to go when the ump came out and ordered the lights to be turned on. He should have had them turned on immediately after the previous inning ended.

Except for the fact that Atlanta screwed with Marquis the inning before. It was makeup call more or less.

With a 6-1 lead, I think Lou needs Marquis to take one for the team... I don't care if he throws 130+ pitches, get him through 7 innings!

Agree completely.

How about they clone Edmonds.

That way they'd get one whole shirt between them, eh?

I know this has probably been asked before, but can someone fill me in on the Edmonds half shirt joke?

He used to wear half shirts during warmups.

Fun fact: I remember seeing a video of Sammy running in spring training wearing one.

Thanks. So what is up with the eyeliner jokes?

and maybe we'd get the side bonus of him blowing out his arm.

He' @ 74 pitches. He should be able to get to the 7th.

Who would sit Edmonds the rest of this game to keep him rested for tonight?

I would strongly consider it.

That's actually a very good thought.

ah... game 5 against the braves. we won. I got drunk. LSAT the next day. Score a 151. Could only get into Detroit Mercy Law. Now sitting here instead of having a job.

Let's not talk about only scoring a 151, 'kay?

Though Kansas was still willing to take me. Their mistake.

I'm taking it in October. Haven't been studying as much as I should be. We'll see what happens.

Rethink law school.

Up 6, might not be a bad idea.

Edmonds' total season BA has crept up into the mid-240s. If current trends hold, he could pass Kosuke in another week or so. Astonishing considering how their seasons both started.

I would strongly consider it. We should still put someone else in RF, Kosuke is as much of a liability as the pitcher these days.

Is a 6 run lead big enough with Marquis pitching?

I know it's tricky with catchers, but you could do the same thing with Soto and bring in Blanco now.

Lou would probably prefer each to catch their own game instead of half and half...but...
