5 straight losses now since they held the team meeting to focus on gearing up for the playoffs

i think that's a pretty big indication on how this team will perform under pressure in the postseason

At this point, I hope the Hawks play themselves out of playoff spot.

There is about 11 games left in the season (give or take) what separates Hawks and the Ducks (9th in the conference) is 11 points. At one point the Hawks was soaring to a playoff spot---most notably the #4 seed---and all the Hawks had to do was keep everything tight and get rid for the playoffs. Right now the Hawks are not even guarantee to make the playoffs.

It's cliche but, this team needs to do some soul searching cause they are playing like the Hawks of old.

I don't get some people on here.

I want them to make the playoffs, but not with the way they are currently playing. If they are going to play like Howry, I don't want to be embarrassed in the playoffs.

They aren't missing the playoffs. Not only are they 10 points ahead of St. Louis, but they have 2 games in hand. They're ahead off Anaheim/Dallas/Minn by 11 points with one game in hand. They're not missing the playoffs.

As for wanting them to miss the playoffs.... you know you don't mean that. trust me, I say stuff like that all the time but it's only out of anger.

I know I don't mean it, but unless "it" clicks on, the Hawks are looking like a one and done playoff team. Which would disappointing considering how well they played in December/January.

Wow, this is starting to get scary. From a sure 4 seed to being nervous about even getting in. The Hawks also have 11 OT losses now, so a title change is in place, just so there's no confusion.

Cyno's meltdown over the Hawks is now more entertaining than the Hawks themselves

Oh we're fine for getting in... it's just comical how many ways this team can find to lose.

Hehe, yeah. Maybe they're just saving it up for the playoffs.

No matter who we play, I'm going to be so amped up for playoff hockey that it won't really matter who they are playing.

But man, they need to get it into gear here.

Of course, I'll be watching tomorrow.

Respecting the Indian Head:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/chi-22-blackhawks-respect-chicagmar22,0,4947637.story

AWESOME article.

"Nobody steps on the logo in the middle of the room. A jersey never hits the floor. If you saw a guy from a different team come in here, I guarantee you he wouldn't put a jersey on the floor, and he would know not to step on the logo in the middle of the room.

Even children in the locker room, no matter who they are or who they are related to, must abide by the rule.

"One of the coach's kids was walking on it, so we made him do push-ups on it and kiss the Indian," Seabrook said with a laugh.

Said Burish: "Little kids are awesome. They come in here and say, 'Nobody step on the Indian head.' "

The "respect thing" extends to the "sweater" as well, both game and practice jerseys.

"The trainers put a basket in middle of room, and you expect guys to put their jerseys in there in a respectful way," Savard said. "You don't throw it in there.

"Before games, the sweaters are hung up. And the trainers do such a good job the way they put them out, all in a line, with the tomahawk on the top of the shoulders somehow turned around so that when you walk into the room, you see all the tomahawks. I wish I could get a picture of it. It's a beautiful thing."

Their mothers would be proud of more than that.

"If you walk into our locker room and there's something on the ground, tape or anything, somebody picks it up and throws it out," Burish said. "That's the respect level the guys have that play this game.

Well, apparently the Hocks won't be at full strength today. No Walker or Barker. In Hendry and Johnson.

Good thing is, the defense can't possibly get any worse.

Losing Walker is addition by subtraction.

Looks like Sharp's line will be:

Steeg-Pahlsson-Sharp

Nice to see him back on wing.

This is the second game in a row that Pat has mentioned right away that we'll be seeing Khabi a lot down the stretch here.

Hadn't read that anywhere else, but obviously I'm glad to hear it.

This game is going to be fun.

I thought Buff was going to go with whoever was hacking at him on that faceoff, and then Armstrong and Johnson.
