Playing against a good team who has already had 2 real games? Against a top 5 goalie in the league?

 

Def. not bad. If it was any goalie other than Lundqvist the Hawks score 5+... they are quick and talented and just have to mold together.

 

I don't think this Toews and Kane separation is going to last too much longer.

 

This game was a good start... if you really expected them to beat the Rangers under the circumstances, you know ZERO about hockey.

All I meant was that it really wasn't a good game. We did a good job of getting even in the 1st, but we had an awful second period. Then we gave up a goal right after we got it back to within one. Way too many defensive breakdowns for my liking tonight. I'm sorry, but I'm going to refuse to call it a 'good game' even though the Rangers are a solid team.

Sorry if I came across as a dick, I wasn't intending to at all, but I just read it this morning with my headache and all. I do apologize for that.

 

You're right, defense was bad and Huet shouldn't have let in 4... but it was their first game. I have a tendency to only look at the positives, expecting the negatives to get better over time.

 

The Hawks offense was awesome, they had so many open looks against a pretty good NYR defense.

 

Oh well, go get the Caps tonight!

I won't freak out about one game, but I do get a little tired of the constant sliding scale for the Blackhawks. It seems like the same thing every year: "It's okay that we had such poor defense and too many giveaways, we're young and things wiill get better."

pretty even game though. each team with a PP, both teams with glorious chances on the PP. khabi looks solid so far.

 

the caps have so much depth offensively. they're going to be really scary if theodore isn't a complete joke like i think he will be. they have 3 solid scoring lines.
