Very nice win tonight. This team just finds a way to win almost every night. Very impressive and something I haven't seem from a hockey team in some time.

EDIT: Would more call it outplaying the other team severely more than "finding a way to win"... no offense intended at all.

That's not what I meant. I just mean they find a way to win every night, not just tonight. Most nights they blow out a team, but sometimes they scrap together a win. They win in all sorts of ways. I love it.

Can't disagree with you there.

true that. this team isn't finding ways to win, they're just flat out mashing. not many cheap wins for these guys

i can't bleieve how confident i am in this team scoring goals every time i turn on a game. if they go more than like 10 minutes of gamre time without socring a goal it feels like it's a surprise. i haven't felt like this about a team since the 2003-2004 lightning

And to clarify my crying about the refs...

Through 52:45 of the game:

Sabres - 6 PIM

Hawks - 18 PIM

Now the Hawks aren't innocent here... but they also weren't the only ones pushing/shoving/instigating... need to even it out a bit.

That being said, great win and the Rangers haven't been playing too well so I can look forward to a win on Friday... I really hope no one tries to fight Orr!

Some quotes on the hit on Keith:

"I'd kill those off all day," Adam Burish said. "One of our best defensemen, somebody takes a hit at him that could seriously hurt him, you need to hold him accountable, and Benny did that.

"That's part of the game, sticking up for each other. I don't think Stafford was too effective after that. I think he knew guys kind of had him and every time he skated by the bench guys reminded him of it. That's part of being team tough."

"It's a dirty hit regardless if it's a shoulder - it's shoulder right to head and it's defenseless," Eager said. "That guy probably has two hits all year. That team has been through it before and they should know better.

"I just thought it was a dirty play. I'm sure nothing will come of it because it was a skilled guy that hit him, but we'll see what they do."

More News:

Walker and Sharp got into a fist fight at practice today.

ALSO

It doesn't appear that Duncan Keith's injury is all too serious, he is listed as day-to-day. I believe the NHL has a strict 1 week minimum policy for concussions, so HOPEFULLY we can rule that out!

Happens more than we know... but the practice was an open practice today so people actually witnessed it... I am sure Comcast Sportsnite covered it? I don't know, I didn't tune in.

Maybe Sharpie just wanted to practice his scrapping skills. :)

We say this more often than not now, but this is a game tonight the Hawks should win. Tomorrow too.

The Blackhawks were saying little Thursday about Duncan Keith's condition.

Nobody in the organization was confirming or denying whether the team's best defenseman might have suffered a concussion on the hit from Buffalo's Drew Stafford in Wednesday's 4-1 victory, but it's almost certain Keith won't be in the lineup tonight against the New York Rangers at the United Center.

"We'll miss him because he's a great player, but it's the same as when Patty Kane was out. Other guys have to step it up," Brian Campbell said.

First team we've played in awhile with a TRUE enforcer. Orr will mess anyone up.

Don't back down, but don't give the Rangers/Orr a reason to fight. IMO, this game needs to be won on pure skill.

Orr jawing with Wiz... this can't end well for Wiz if anything goes down.

Orr is a bad man. Pretty much every top ranked fight on hockeyfights.com involves him

Yea.... anyone on the Hawks is gonna get destroyed instantly, I already know this.

Has anyone noticed how much Versteeg looks like Michael Barrett?
