Calling Mr. Zambrano. You are late for your start. Some other guy has been filling in for you. Please report to the mound as soon as possible.

Z is struggling terribly today so far. Is the gun slow today too, or is Z's fastball off kilter a little bit?

btw it is nice to see soto taking the ball the other way... pitchers have begun throwing him a lot of low/outside breaking balls and he's doing a lot better job of staying back on the ball.

I think guys are a bit doom-and-gloom about Z right now. He has only given up 1 ER. Struggling terribly? Perhaps our expectations from him are just too high.

But I do see a lot of deep counts. This could be one of those 5 inning, 100 pitch days. Pen, be ready.

That's why he's struggling terribly.

Glad to hear them talking positively about Woody.

But why do they keep mentioning Chad Fox's rehab? Is there any way he makes the roster this year?

Does anyone have any info on what Lee might be working on to improve his hitting situation? Because it's been months now, and it sure looks like he's doing nothing about the fact that he's a ground ball machine. But again, I don't know if anything is being done to help him.

If this keeps up we've got to move him out of the 3 spot, correct?

of course santo belongs in the hall, his numbers are far better than brooks robinson's yet brooks is a first-ballot guy. his glove was in the ballpark as well.

from every account i've read, brooks robinson is the best defensive 3B of all time. santo was very good but not great.

still, it's pointless in arguing between the two of them because they both clearly belong in the hall of fame.

Just glancing over Gameday, his fastball has been primarily in the 89-91 range with a couple at 92 and 93.

i never said that santo was as good, just in the ballpark. and ronnie's offensive superiority exceeds robinson's defensive superiority. robinson played on winning teams and had longevity on his side, but santo was just a much better hitter and usually that's what gets people into the hall.

Unless you click your heels to rub it in the face of the NY press corps. Then you get blackballed.
