For those of us who are getting effed because of Fox's stupid rules... what happened?

soft little line drive with a lot of back spin that theriot tried to play on the bounce bare-handed, to undesirable results.

Maholm hit a soft slicing liner to Theriot. Rather than get in front of it, Theriot decided he wanted to get behind it and play it barehanded. Predictable results ensued.

Weak, lazy floater went about 80 feet... Theriot tried to play it bare-handed on one bounce going to his right, but with the spin and all, he didn't come up with it. Brenly (and I) thought he had plenty o' time to glove it and throw out Maholm. Weak play.

I wish someone had a stat of how many hits the Cubs have given up to pitchers this year, they must be leading the league

I can't get quite to that stat, but:

the Cubs are 10th out of 16 against the 9 spot in BA. 7th out of 16 in OBP, and 11th out of 16 in OPS.

That of course includes pinch-hitters, but gives you a pretty good idea of how the Cubs are in facing pitchers this year.
